What is pulse fishing? Do fish have a pulse? 

Not sure toots , but i think its a type of fishing where they somehow stun large numbers of fish to catch them , and from memory it was particularly favoured by dutch trawlers?

That article claims the "research purposes" loophole allowing fishing vessels to countermand the ban on the use of the technology is widespread.....


It's been 40 years since I did any serious study of marine biology

The system has been used for decades by CEFAS  https://www.cefas.co.uk/  but they don't have a fleet of fishing vessels.

Defra have withdrawn pulse fishing licences from 23:00 31st December.
The EU were due to do this on 1st July 2021.

Independence has started in the fisheries.
