I have to take opinion polls with a very big pinch of salt. One I have just seen for the constituency where I live shows the Tories dropping from 42% to 32% Lib Dems static at 41% and Labour going from 2% to 20%.

We had a nice glossy leaflet from our Tory candidate. It's mostly about local issues, over which national government has little control, but does cover the NHS and Brexit a bit.

It also says how he turned out from his hospital bed after being in a coma to vote in a crucial Brexit division. I shouldn't say it but it makes some women not turning up because they were due to drop quite wimps.  :dmq:  ;)

Quite, there is also, (thankfully,) little sign of Christmas either. Usually by now there are several houses festooned with so many lights they must be visible from Space, this year nothing.

Funnily enough there has just been a knock on the door and when I opened it there was a girl with a jolly smile who wanted to know if I  would give something for children in need or some such.

I was about to say no, sod off, are there no prisons or work houses, but the lass was radiating so much festive cheer that I cracked open my wallet and did the decent thing.

I'm in a very close seat, only Conservative seat for miles. Hopefully see off the LD's.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Christ, this is a dull election. I have yet to see a poster for any party in my street and have only been canvassed by the Lib Dems and they don't count because, well, they are Lib Dems.

Where I live I have as yet seen no political posters anywhere. My home made one on my front door is the only one at the moment.

I have just gotten a leaflet from a chap called Mike Smithson who describes himself as a journalist, Liberal Democrat politician, polling expert and the owner of a political betting website.

We have some very odd folk standing in my constituency.

Yesterday I got a Libdem flyer. In big font it told me that if all the greens and Libdems voted together they could oust the encumbant. The Conservatives had a 20,000 majority last time. It didn't make it into the house. It seemed a bit underhand to me.

Ipsos Mori produced the latest Scottish poll figures:

SNP: 44%

Scottish Conservatives: 26%

Scottish Labour: 16%

Scottish Liberal Democrats: 11%

Scottish Greens: 2%

Brexit Party: <1%

The Moray constituency race is getting ever closer, Electoral Calculus suggests the SNP is only 3.8% behind  https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/fcgi-bin/seatdetails.py?seat=Moray">https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/fcg ... seat=Moray">https://www.electoralcalculus.co.uk/fcgi-bin/seatdetails.py?seat=Moray

BTW I see that B is still banging on about this 10% to the Tories. I will give him one more chance to explain this 'rule of thumb' that only he seems to know about!

Well Moray, it is a rule of thumb which means sometimes it works and sometimes it does not which is why it is called a rule of thumb.
