Engineers are working to restore hundreds of thousands of police records that were accidentally deleted from the national database, the Home Office has said.
More than 400,000 records were wiped due to human error earlier this week, prompting warnings that criminal investigations could be compromised, Sky News understands.

Home Secretary Priti Patel and Policing Minister Kit Malthouse confirmed Home Office engineers are working throughout the weekend to restore the data lost from the Police National Computer.
