Why can't both be an amazing achievement? Kpchoge broke a barrier that will inspire many people. Every achievement has it's place, some get world headlines, some are more on a personal level.

Ive just been up to Trafalgar square with some dry clobber for a few friends who got drenched walking 26 miles for disadvantaged kids . Many of those taking part had never done anything like it  had only the help of the person beside them and the will to get to the end .Many  were completely done for by the end and will I dare say spend tomorrow resting before returning to work on Monday

The time was irrelevant ,it was the doing it that mattered .

On the other hand a decent athlete has broken the 2 hour barrier for running 26 miles with the help of 41 pacemakers and a laser guided system that made sure he ran the shortest route . Well done

I know where my respect and  who my thoughts will be with in the coming days .

Absolutely right and the route was probably flat or downhill. Nevertheless I still think it was quite an achievement.
