What puzzles me is why are the majority of toaster not for purpose, the slots are too short for a slice of bread to fit.

Have not seen one of them for years, brought back happy memories of my youth, if on the rare occasions the bread we buy does not fit our toaster simple we use the grill job done

I have a long last managed to buy a toaster the slices of bread will fit into.

That requires slots at least 7 inches long, but that has proven difficult to find.
