O'Brian's ability with subject matter can be highly variable. Sometimes he is good, other times less so. He is great at condescension which can be entertaining when you agree with him but anger inducing, making you think "what an arrogant knob" when you don't. He resorts to open condescension and mockery when the person he disagrees with knows his stuff. He does it to Corbyn supporters and socialists as readily as he does it to right wing populists and Brexiteers. He has nothing but disdain for anyone who disagrees with him and is puffed up by his own sense of superiority. He is right and anyone who disagrees with him should be treated like an idiot is his default assumption. When he is agreeing with you this can be entertaining though not particularly informative. The rest of the time he just looks like an arrogant and condescending twit.

For example, he claims that food prices will go down after Brexit - this can be easily checked now and into the next few years. 

Most people in the food business appear to say that food prices will go up because of Brexit, because there are a bunch of complexities that mean that the benefits quoted by JRM are more than cancelled out by other losses due to Brexit.

This has always been the issue with Brexit enthusiasts - they only want to consider the advantages and ignore all the costs of what they are proposing.

Food prices are down from this time last year.

However I could spin this same statistic another way.
Food prices are up since December.

I was just listening to Labour telling us how they need to set out a vision for society, erm didn't any of the last ones work then? On Nicks interview, even if you don't like Rees Mogg and after Labour loving the chaos, this was part of the original agreement put forward by Theresa May and the EU.
