Thanks for that Caiaphas, I'm sure someone else must have noticed, but I was watching the debate, so the Twitterati were more concerned than me.

It is more than someone noticed it is a mainstream news item. Frankly the Tories are disgrace, no apology for it and it appears they have not sacked anyone for doing it.

Twitter are letting it slide with a warning that if the Conservatives do it again they might do something. It looks the Conservatives have gotten away with it and probably will so so again if another opportunity to mislead the public by rebranding their twitter account comes up.



I understand complaints have been made to the Electoral Commission but that's as useful as pissing into the wind.

The fact that they think this kind of underhand trickery is more beneficial than detrimental to their campaign says something about the sad state of UK politics.

Apparantly during the debate the Tories changed their twitter account to make it look like an independent fact checking account and then changed it back after the debate was finished.



While masquerading as a fact checking account it made numerous propoganda posts including that Mr Johnson had won the debate.

Not to worry. At the end of the debate Robert Preston said that 78% of the twitteree though Wurzel had won the debate. My nice, nutty Marxist daughter certainly thinks so. My suggestion that they were both pulling their punches and that the debate was a draw was laughed to scorn.

Anybody who takes note of twatter or any social mejia and bases how they might vote is IMO a half wit and will get the govt they deserve.
