I dont think the issue is UK taxes but Spanish ones Nick . As a registered resident in Spain  you are liable to pay tax on your UK  pension  .

And are they? Is there any suspicion that they are not paying Spanish tax?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

The brothers and sisters will be mortified streetwalker.

Those cash economy brickies arent off the hook either streetwalker. So watch your back mate , in the new labour party world , you will be getting held to account big time .

You really will be getting lined up for the firing squad if you dare employ an accountant.

No more going back to the bad old days of the SC60 and spending your tax money down the pub . ::)

All plebs must pay their way  to keep the brothers and sisters in the lifestyle they are accustomed to.

Why should someone living abroad pay UK tax anyway?
If they have paid their full stamp already they'll get a full pension, if they haven't they won't.

Terrible those Bees when they get in your bonnet.

Bless him nick , poor steve , as befitting a proper brother and sister has never been out of the slums of plymouth , so when anyone moves abroad , right away the deep suspicion of the brothers and sisters is piqued.

Obviously all those tax dodging ex pats are all stiff upper lip upper class skinflints trying to avoid paying their fair share towards the broither and sisters gravy train so must be punished accordingly. ::) :P :D

Brexiters into the bargain too which has him upset even more.

Talk about the Daily Mail. The source is best described as "left of centre" click bait.

Speaking as an expert on this subject, all of those Brits had 4 years to prepare for this.

They were told that if they wanted to remain in Spain they should ensure they were there officially and not pretending to be temporary tourists.
For this they had to apply for a Certificado de registro como residente comunitario which is commonly known as "residencia". After having one for 5 years, the right to remain is permanent.

The problem for many was that they might have to start paying tax in Spain, or that the Spanish authorities might communicate with HMRC (they do).
However, people preferred to prevaricate, obfuscate, do anything but be officially resident in Spain.

So don't cry any tears for these people. I know several people who voted to leave the EU who live in Spain, and who are still living there, with their Certificado de registro como residente comunitario safely in their wallets and handbags.
Those people have no problem.

These people who failed to register and stayed in Spain more than 3 months at a time, without registering, were ALWAYS breaking the law. They thought they were being clever and I've advised them for years to register, so if they did not, tough.

Good post barry.

Once again we have yet another thread started with the sole intention of crying petulantly about "stupid brexiters" from the same individuals and supporters of the same parties that have been crying about it non stop for the last five years.

Im not sure what this self defeating rhetoric is supposed to achieve , but as i told my mate gerry badfellow yesterday , they certainly dont seem to be winning over the hearts and minds of the population.

Unlike you , i am no expert on the subject , but as i said before , my brother in law , who is english , has lived in south east France for twenty years , and going from what he has been telling me ( he didnt support brexit) the french couldnt have made it any easier for uk citizens to stay in france .

I doubt very much as you say that most countries are going to go through the bother of mass deportations of uk citizens , and vice versa in the uk  with eu , and mostly want folk to stay .

Sounds like from your post it will maily be the piss takers getting the boot through their own stupidity , not brexit.

Another damp squib story from remoaners from what i can see , sheepy best summed it up with his "yawn".

True I have family members who have done it in Portugal in the last year. It was pretty straightforward; I just can't be bothered these days with this if you had only voted in.

So it's a case of chickens coming home to roost for British tax dodgers?

How stupid do you have to be to vote for Brexit whilst living in an EU country, when the only thing that guarantees your right of residency there is EU membership?

Dunno about the same as thinking if you get rid of the Royal family and rejoin the EU you can make it a socialist paradise, as though that will happen.

Brits face deportation from Spain as a result of Brexit.

Another returning at Malaga airport today was Shaun Cromber who despite voting for Britain to leave the EU, didn't believe it would end his Spanish lifestyle, he said: " Yes I voted out, but I didn't realise it would come to this, my application has been rejected and we are on our way home – the wife is in tears, she's distraught if I'm honest and I'm not too happy at the prospect of returning back to the UK."

Talk about turkeys voting for Christmas, lol.
