Yeah, but more people are dying of oxygen, according to the piece of paper that I wrote it on.  My study involved looking at all the deaths over the last month, and was shocked that they had ALL BEEN BEATHING OXYGEN.  🤣

It's fucking dodgy stuff is oxygen

It rusts you from the inside

That's why vitamin C is so vital. That gets rusted instead of you.

Seriously.

Too much oxygen, or too little if that sticky slimy shit in your lungs, and the cells lining them are destroyed by a process exactly the same as rusting

And once it starts ....

According to today's press conference face coverings will be optional from 19th July. All legal restrictions relating to face coverings and social distancing will be scrapped.

From 19th July I think there will be a culture war between the muzzlers and the no muzzlers.
It will be as vicious as the Brexit war.
Guess which side I will be on!

Fine. It will be optional to wear a face covering. Anyone still in fear can also continue with their hands, face and space regime.

Frankly it would be stupid to ignore the  hands, face and space regime..  (Look what has happened to the Scottish football fans.)

Still nearly three weeks to go until July 19 Freedom Day. But as current stats are not that comforting, I think our family is likely to remain acting under its current careful regime probably until the end of July...

The high number of people dying from Covid in the North West has caused the life expectancy of men and women in the region to decline by a combined 2.8 years, a study has found.
A report published today by the University College London found a high Covid mortality rate and deprivation contributed to a decline in life expectancy in the North West region, which was larger than the average in England.
Life expectancy dropped across England last year by an average of 1.3 years for men and 0.9 years for women, but it decreased even more in the North West, where it fell by 1.6 years for men and 1.2 years for women.
The report also found that people in Manchester were 24 per cent more likely to die from Covid than the rest of England.

yeah well, you milked that one for 18 months so it is time for a climbdown feckwits. The plebs are getting a bit twitchy and you could be next in line.

I will be wearing one where I deem it to be appropriate for the foreseeable future.
Just don't forget to leave your eyes free.

Face masks. I wore one today, but it won't last forever.

Do you know you can get a pack of 10 now for £1 in B&M whereas early in the crisis you couldn't get one under a quid?

We made our own. The government never specified what constituted a face covering/mask, which showed what a farce it all was and is.
Few today's last forever.
Face masks were subject to unprecedented demand in early 2020. Since then, plentiful supply ensures they're now offered by many outlets, from office stationery suppliers to Iceland checkouts.
Government suplied comprehensive about masks — from what was required in the various part of the UK, how and where to wear them, and how to make them, and from what...

Poor sod. The finest diving I ever found in your general area was off the manacle as reef.

It was not far from there. Before the latest incident it has been a long time since a diver death locally.

I am still banned crowded situations shops, which suits me.

(In passing there has recently been a diver death in the area. It took six days for his body to surface.)

Poor sod. The finest diving I ever found in your general area was off the manacle as reef. And a little further back up the coast Devon way, there is some quite stunning fauna at less than ten metres down inhabiting the vertical crevices that exist and can be seen far nearer the surface on the Jurassic coast .. the rock strata have been folded through 90 degrees there, you can swim horizontally through millions of years of geology ... And it takes some effort to die in between 5 and 10 metres.

Having personally rescued a prize tosspot who lied about his cardiac health and nearly died on his outing in fairly warm water I have no desire to give someone a similar opportunity.

He was not one of our club or students, thank god, just another idiot we were happy to rescue.

I developed an attitude that I was not really doing it for their sakes, they in most cases were at least as experienced as me and therefore should have known not to be such an arse, but more for the mental health of their fellow divers and those who trained them.

Perhaps the most entertaining example of this attitude was at the Navy Diving School former torpedo test range. Half way through our "surface interval" a yell for help was heard.

Three guys myself included instantly leapt into the water with me grabbing my 1.5l emergency bottle and reg ....

We got the guy out - his tank o ring had failed, shit happens... And of course it occurred to us that none of the 10 Instructor and above grade dives had bothered even looking...

I was not entirely convinced their "we had every confidence in you three and in any case we hung back in case he panicked and hurt one of you" was totally heartfelt, but having fetched the guy out he was gracious enough to stand us all a post-dive beer in the PADi equivalent of the 19th hole so not all bad then ...

I often found the inevitable increase in CO2 and resulting acidity of rebreathed air to be a problem. Google "breathing with a snorkel" on PADIs web pages if you think this isn't an issue.

Now to be fair it isn't really a serious issue for anyone medically fit to scuba dive, but as of two days ago it has been made clear to me by a cardiologist my next dive will be in a coffin if I choose burial at sea, as a pox carrier has screwed my heart and lungs to the point they are only 33% operational. I would be dead already were my singularly resilient haemoglobin not be as resilient as my genes have made it

However, that revelation fully explains why I get breathing problems inside enclosed areas which the mask exacerbates to a significant degree (I collapsed in Curry's while trying to buy a chrome book, but revived instantly on being moved to the doorway with access to fresh air free from CO2 moisture acidification.

My days of wearing a mask are OVER.

To date, every security gorilla has taken one glance at the exemption details on the 'badge' that Transport 4 Wales sent to my phone and have been most helpful. Particularly when I explain I collapsed in Curry's because the air in the store was too hot and humid for my screwed lungs to work with.

Who knows, i might even see if I can play dodgems with the Asda Granny Shopper Mobility Scooter things ...

At the very beginning Vlad was seen visiting covid patients in Russia in a Hazmat suit, which was a bit of a clue, he is very smart like that.
