The report says two different things:
1.

The Pfizer Covid vaccine has been found to be 100% effective at stopping serious illness from coronavirus in 12 to 15 year olds.

2.

In a study of 2,260 US volunteers aged 12 to 15, preliminary data showed no cases of Covid-19 among fully vaccinated adolescents, compared with 18 among those given placebo shots, Pfizer said in a statement this morning.

We know that children do no get serious illness, if they catch Covid.
So on the one hand they mention serious illness whilst on the other mentioning 18 "cases" - that presumably means a test.
What symptoms did they have?
