I'm fairly sure when Mohammed Al Fayed demanded a judicial review of the Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs Minister after he was refused a passport, Betty Boothroyd told him in no uncertain terms to get back on his camel and go piss on a pyramid somewhere.

They seem to be there for the champagne socialists, who want to alleviate their guilt at owning big houses and earning millions by voting Labour to help the poor.

Thats the point though cassie , they dont help the poor. Every area they get into they reduce down to third world poverty levels.

Glasgow had them in charge for around 80 years , and they took us from the second city of the empire to poverty rates equivalent to eastern european cities under communisim , murder rates equivalent to south african inner cities ,and the lowest life expectancy in the developed world.

All with promises of jam tomorrow if we kept voting them.

Now we have got rid of them , glasgow is booming.

I pity the poor buggers in northern england and wales that keep voting them in .

Running to the Courts was a big mistake IMO our elected Politicians such as they are, are supposed to look after the nation on our behalf not unelected Judges nothing to do with them , so yes after so many years we may now need a written constitution.

Since the referendum our Democracy as been seriously damaged so much so if we do not leave in full I may never bother voting ever again, even in Local Council elections

But the rot really set in with Blind Pew Blunkett, who was successfully dragged through the courts for overstepping his powers. That rather set the precedent.

It's a shame they didn't pull this sort of stunt with Callaghan and Steel, because if they had, Maggie would have castrated the courts properly and none of this bullshit would be troubling us today

It doesn't matter who is labour party leader .Even a bright young leader would represent little other than putting lipstick  on a corpse .They are no longer and haven't been for many years the party of the working class . Even given moderate Labours economic record the support has even tailed off from the Blairite sect

The UK  has no place for a party that represents nobody but themselves

Totally agree , further it reflects the change in society at large as well as the bigger political issues such as brexit and scottish indy.

If labour dont change with the times , and keep bleating about eradicating poverty and all the other auld shite they have come out with , as you say they are very soon going to be an irrelevance.

Most of their support in scotland has went to the snp because they failed to grasp the constiutional issue of scotland being in the uk .

The harsh reality is no one can see the point in labour , just as people are now questioning more and more what is the point in the uk.

When you have nothing left but old memories and vague sentimentality among the older age group , very quickly you find yourself out of touch and relevance to the vast majority and dissappearing very quickly indeed.

I think you are agreeing with me. Women have been overlooked in the past because they are women. I'm all for having women leaders if they are the best person for the job.

ok , i must have misunderstood your post as i thought you were agreeing with mcdonnell.

Woman shouldnt have been overlooked in the past becasue they were woman , but neither should they be given the job in future simply because they are woman.

Thats the trouble with this world at the minute , we seem to be trying to fix historical sleights by commiting further sleights to equalise a past wrong.

Two wrongs dont make a right.

To be honest thomas I find it very hard to watch him,I look at that smug bloody face and want to punch him which isn't my style

He is as you describe a mammoth hypocrite and every word, his foundation and involvement in anything is a sham,a front put up but you can guarantee the result desired is the advancement and enrichment of himself had he just crawled under the stone he deserves and been quiet I wouldnt mind so much.

I know cromwell , but from your perspective as a brexiter , i should think it great news when blair takes to the airwaves to bleat hypocritically against brexit.

Everytime he opens his gob you can feel public opinion rally behind brexit . He is an asset to your cause.

I keep hoping he comes up here to tell us not to vote for scottish indy , we would have a feckin landslide.

Mcdonnell said the next leader should be a woman, I'm all for that, but the best person for the job should be ghe leader.

You say you are all for that.....im not cassie. Positive discrimination is still discrimination.

As you say , the best person should get the job , but they wont. Thats why parties like labour are in the mess they are at the minute.

Now be fair thomas Bliar provided a lot of jam.............for himself  ;)

Did you see him the other day being interviewed by andrew neil cromwell?

Obviously it was all about stopping brexit . Neil said to him you only want another referendum because you lost the first.

He then said why cant there be a general election to try and sort things out?

Blair then went on to bleat about the unfairness of FPTP and how a party on a minority of the vote could command a large majority and get hard brexit through the commons.

Cheeky barsteward , exactly what he did in 2005 when he won a 100 seat majority on 35% of the actual vote and even less of the total electorate.

Now bleating about the very system he used to his advantage. What a brass kneck that barsteward has.

Poor auld wurzel. No wonder he doesnt want a general electon anytime soon. Members deserting party , closing in on three quarters of a million pounds shortfall , and trailing the tories in the polls big time while it looks like wipe out in scotland.

Everytime i hear him interviewd its the same auld fantasy about eradicting poverty , abolishing the lords and all the same auld shite we have been hearing from labour for decades.

We even had blair on being interviewed by andrew neil moaning about the fptp electoral system , you know the one he promised to sort out but never seemed to get round to it during his 11 years in power.

Same old same old labour , always jam tomorrow , never when they are in power.
