There is a discussion going on now about when the necessity to count cases will disappear, as Boris says we have to live with the virus.
Some say we should just look at hospital admissions, but that relies on "cases", and the NHS are currently using 45 cycles of amplification on the PCR tests. We all know what that means, or do we?
Others are saying that we should produce death figures in context as I posted in another thread.

I think we will know this is over when the NHS discard their Covid related PPE.
Another step will be when patients and visitors to hospitals can also discard their PPE aka face covering.
A good sign would be when asymptomatic testing ceases.

Now don't be silly, Barry, it was a very successful meeting of great people, (and queen doesn't need a mask or to unsocially distance because she is indestructible).  😁
Those princes who have done great things have held good faith of little account, and have known how to craftily circumvent the intellect of men.  Niccolò Machiavelli.

It is combination of the invasion of tourists for half term and the G7.  There are now businesses closing due to Covid 19 infection amongst staff and the infections are not just on the North coast they are getting too close for comfort to where I live.
Local hospitality business's including the local pub have had staff verbally abused and one attacked.
There are just far too many tourists here for the available infrastructure.
There is a very serious shortage of staff because there is no-where for the numbers of staff needed to live, due to holiday rentals and AIR B&B.
My MP, the head of Cornwall Tourism, and the leader of Cornwall Council appear to have all gone into hiding.
