Well given that there were some 400 shootings over the Independence Day Holiday weekend resulting in 150 deaths, I guess that one or more is hardly worth noting.
I would be interested to learn how these numbers; both for perpetrators and victims, broke down by ethnicity.
Well TBH Samps I'd be more interested if we had a thread that recorded how often these killings happen,as I keep saying its a bloody asylum over there best illustrated by a story like this, man shoots cop.....goes to get his automatic rifle so he can kill more.......citizen with firearm confronts cop killer shoots him and takes away his rifle.....cops arrive in response to shooting report see citizen with gun who has just offed cop killer and kill him........like I say an asylum.

I doubt you can buy a gun at a car boot sale without showing any ID in Russia like you can in the US.

No a car boot sale, but a fully automatic weapon costs a few cartons of cigarettes or some porno magazines.

As far as I can see, white attacks on blacks are racist while black attacks on anybody are a natural response to the aforementioned racism.  :) :)

Whatever the ethnicities involved, the attitudes of the pro-gun population in the USA must mean that firearm deaths will continue to increase.

I found this expression of surprise by an American pro-gun advocate at the strict gun-ownership restriction in Russia:

Did you know that in Russia there is only one Federal law regulating firearms and no state laws

  • You cannot own a short-barreled handgun for self-defense

  • Applying for a gun license requires a psychiatric evaluation

  • Russian mass gatherings, protests, and public events at educational institutions prohibit firearms

  • You can only own up to ten licensed firearms with a purchased license. The license is valid for five years (other than ones that fire rubber bullets)

  • Local police must visit gun owners' residences at least once a year to verify the safe storage of guns.

  • For initial and renewal licenses, applicants must attend a six-and-a-half hours training class. The Russian government offers the class and applicants must pass written tests.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

^^^

If you understood that from what I posted, I suggest you may need to take more paraquat in your coffee as you sit in your shed surveying your allotment, because the weeds seem to be progressing further than just round your vegetables...

Perhaps if Ashli had been disabled/tasered as she climbed through the broken window in the barricaded door to the lobby leading to the Capitol's House chamber, then laid somewhere quiet, and either had her head kicked in (apparently some UK police officers' preferred unauthorised style), or had her neck knelt on for nine minutes (apparently some US police officers' preferred unauthorised style), there might have been a more general outcry. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what develops...

So killing white women is ok but not black men?

Fair enough Pat, as long as we know where you stand

No one.

Ashli Babbitt was a straight, white, ex service woman.

How can her life compare with that of a black ex con?

Why are people surprised if someone is shot when a mob attacks a state building that's protected by armed guards?

I doubt it. He died of natural causes, it might be very difficult to find a killer in those circumstance, unless we put God on trial.

If you watch the video of the shooting of Ashli Babbitt it seems clear that there is a confrontation along a corridor where lethal force with a firearm could have been deemed unnecessary.

What she was doing was protesting, surely she didn't deserve to die for that?

Plus Brian Sicknick, a US Capitol police officer, died from injuries sustained in the attack on Congress by a pro-Trump mob. Is anyone calling for the names of the people directly responsible for his death...?

Well given the profligacy of firearms in the good ole USA being involved in a demo or possible acts of criminal behaviour seems an occupational hazard.

But yes Donald has a large spoon.

Who killed Ashli Babbitt?

She was shot by law enforcement officers on Capitol Hill on 6th January. She was a veteran of the US forces.
She was strongly right wing.
The authorities have said she was shot in self defence. The officer who shot her has not been named.

It's stirring the pot.
