Churchill

NATO is 70 year young started with 12 nations agreeing to help each other to protect each from aggression back in 1949 ,Russia the most likely to be a threat over the years , which now encompasses 28 Nations including the USA and Canada.

The fact that it still exists shows how nations can still work together even when at times some disagree with each other for the common good, that is what the reception is all about at Buckingham Place tonight, long may NATO last

You know when you go off on one, giving us lectures about forum etiquette and putting links in the thread starter and similar stuff?

Do you ever consider another bit of forum etiquette, such as staying on topic, this one is clearly headed Corbyn and Nato! But you pick a tiny part of a well thought out post and I suppose we should all ignore you and move on.

And every time you do it, you just have a snipe at a Tory. You should start your own Tory sniping thread and we'll all spam it for you.

I only commented for balance.

Hi Major,

I think this might be the link you tried to post

The man's a pacifist and they are dangerous when it comes to any form of defence. People can love and keep the peace, but pacifism means being walked all over.

The same applies to Boris Johnson.

There are dozens of sound reasons why Jeremy Corbyn is not fit to be either Prime Minster or Leader of HM Opposition.

But one which rarely seems to enter discussion is the government of the day's responsibility to keep the nation and its citizens safe.

Corbyn is on record as saying that he wished Nato and other Western Alliances didn't exist. It is NATO of course which has kept the UK and its member states safe from aggression for over 50 years.

When you couple this with his support of his 'friends' Hamas and Hezbollah, his support of the IRA and his attendance at the funerals of IRA murderers; all recognised terrorist groups, his antagonism toward the UK's most important ally the USA, his dismissal of the rights of the State of Israel and the attendant institutional anti-semitism in his party, his refusal to condemn Russia for carrying out murders on British soil, his personal lack of support for Trident then one really has to question whether this man has the intelligence, vision, integrity and courage to lead the defence and ensure the safety of our citizens. One of his latest utterances is that terrorists should not have to serve their full sentences!

Can anyone really imagine this inadequate and arrogant little man heading up a meeting at Cobra? I can't and the prospect of Corbyn as PM fills me with trepidation both economically and in terms of national security.
