Just because I don't say anything, it doesn't mean I haven't noticed!

I am frankly shocked at the very high levels of sugar and salt in processed/tinned food.
It is very difficult to find products with low or no sugar and salt.

During his last illness the doctor told my father that the best thing would be for him to cut out  sugar, fatty foods, cigarettes, alcohol and most anything else he enjoyed.

And my father, who knew that he was going home and intended to do so with a Senior Service in his mouth and a pint mug of coffee and rum in his hand, asked politely

"What is the next best thing?"

Yes. I recall dad standing in the porch of Velindre Cancer center after losing his hospice bed to a Nigerian health Tourist, puffing away on a silk cut and stating "what are they gonna do, stop the chemo they should have started months ago to be any use ??"
