Anyone else have any ideas on the matter?

European friends and acquaintances of mine seem to universally think Britain was and is mad.

I know Barnier and Mrs Leyen were jumping up and down and screaming, for you Englander Swine, the future in finished!

But I suspect that the Commission may have thought, well, maybe we can put all this politics bollocks on the back burner for a bit. After all, it does not matter what we say, those sods in Hungary and Poland are going to moan, so let us just concentrate on talking about VAT on knicker elastic or some such. The talks may be long and pointless but think of the expenses we can claim? And the first claim will be a few bottles of bubbly for Boris who made it all possible.

Anyone else have any ideas on the matter?
