As far as I aware there are no Swappies in Cornwall. (Nearest branch appears to be Plymouth and that seems to be inactive.)

Anyway back on track.

Why on earth would socialists support the neoliberal, undemocratic EU?

The EU is a deeply undemocratic institution enforcing austerity and privatisation on its member states. In what strange world is this a progressive institution?

The EU is now, more than ever, defined by its fanatical commitment to the rule of market forces, privatisation and the rolling back of the power of national governments. This ideology of neoliberalism explains the EU's enthusiasm for the politics of austerity, which it has imposed throughout the continent as a response to the global financial crisis.

But, just as austerity has failed in the UK, it has failed throughout the EU. Twenty-three million are unemployed thanks to EU-driven austerity. Living standards have collapsed thanks to EU-driven austerity. Far-right groups have gained strength thanks to EU-driven austerity. Renewed tensions have emerged between nation states thanks to EU-driven austerity. Public services have been decimated thanks to EU-driven austerity.

When economies crashed, the EU's answer was to impose more crippling austerity as part of any bailout condition. This served only to generate deeper impoverishment and social tensions.

The EU's commitment to neoliberalism means its laws are designed to encourage private enterprise at the expense of public ownership. As a result, we have seen an accelerating transfer of ownership and control of industry from elected governments to big corporations.

Oldie but goldie article  , and the question remains today , why are people like the socialst workers of cornwall or our dope smoking marxist friend in plymouth so wedded to the very neo liberal project in the EU they tell us daily they hate elsewhere?

I have always been VERY clear I am NOT Cornish. I am also NOT from Hertfordshire, that is a figment of your imagination. I have been VERY clear where I am from often, you must be suffering from early onset Alzheimer's.

are you ok pappy? You seem quite angry!

I wouldnt be labelling others as having alzheimers after yesterdays performance on here by you , when you posted a link to something and it showed the opposite to what you wanted.

Now that is the height of stupidity. Remember pappy , read your own links first and make sure they say what you claim they do instead of telling porkie pies and making a fool of yourself.

Project fear turning into reality becoming obvious except to the blinkered as time passes. It will get a lot worse from January 2022.

yawn. You have been punting the end of the world since the very first time i came across your guff on the interwebby years ago. You told us all ten years ago when labour got the boot the tories would cause death destruction and the end of the world.

It hasnt happened.

The same with everything else you disagree with , or whatever bandwagon you have jumped aboard.

You  , pappy the champion of the people , fighting for workers rights while silently cheering on the nasty cornish farmers abuse of those poor eastern european workers while crying brexit is bad.

I tell you pappy , i have said it before , i say it again. You are a tory in disguise. If you arent doing hertfordshire council tenants out of a roof over their heads and selling off the council stock to fund your profligate retirement  in cornwall , you are cheering on the abuse of workers at the hands of the EU.

You cant fool me pappy , i see right through you.

I fink we will start calling you pappytory.

They hate us even more now they have been rumbled . Some of us knew it already but brexit really did show to the everyone the contempt that they hold for the electorate ,their own members and working classes .

But yes wages rise across the board for the low paid , the economy moving in the right direction and the project fear doomsayers becoming quieter by the day .

Its funny watching the labour party tear themselves in knots over the EU. One minute , they are screaming thatchers neo liberalism is bad , while at the same time , remaining silent or singing the praises of the EU neo liberalism.

I have never voted for farage or his parties as you know streetwalker , but credit where credit is due.

Farage said many a time mass EU immigration under F.O.M was keeping the minimum wage as the maximum wage for many , while labour or the LSE scoffed at him and said it was having little to no effect on the low waged , and lo and behold , farage has been proved right.

We hear about builders or lorry drivers for example complaining about lack of real wage rises for the best part of the last 20 years , and lo and behold , cheap poles are fecking off back home and wages are rising.

I see aldi for example are bumping up lorry drivers wages in a bid to attract people .

Its fecking embarressing listening to the likes of starmer and his cronies on the subject. There was a time , in the seventies and eighties , where the likes of labour stalwarts  like galloway or corbyn were saying the same thing about the European project , bad for workers , but great for the big bossess in big business with their thousands of lobbyists in brussells.

Now they have about turned.

One thing i will say though mate, you heard gerry the goodfella on here last week......he shone a light on remainers . They dont accept brexit , never will , and as gerry says , he believes it has only just begun , with the implication you will be fighting about it forevermore.

A few more serious kickings at the ballot box should do the feckin trick for the likes of labour.

The working class getting a wage rise mate? Who could have forsaw it?

Yet labour were saying brexit was bad?

Why do the labour party hate the working classes so much eh?

Its like recently a coal mine tried to open and the tories were all for it , but labour and the likes of ed milliband went into complete meltdown.

You couldnt make this fecking stuff up. The so called party of the working class constantly attacking the very same working class , and they wonder why they are despised?
