It's a non story.

I've just worked out that about 0.6% of the armed forces are Covid+.
Whereas the general rate of positive tests in the UK currently is about 3.3% positive.

Stand by your beds. Nothing to see here.

Thanks for that barry.

This story epitomises what we have seen since the start of this "pandemic" from our so called free media and wonderfull politicians.....over exaggerated reporting and political point scoring to create a wave of fear and hysteria which the usual subjects  , who dont need much encouragement , lap up.

you say that 0.6 % of the armed forces are covid positive , less than the general popualtion , no mention of deaths and hospitalisations , so why cant others calmly and rationally analyse this story without all the hysterics?

Sheep , mere sheep led by the nose of the compliant media and disgracefull politicians instead of engaging brains and thinking for themselves. Isnt it funny how a certain individual , who tells us he never ever reads links , can smell a tory bad link from a mile off and runs like an olympic sprinter to read it?

By and large its the same individuals who are running around screaming death and destruction about covid and brexit simultaneously making complete twats of themselves in the process.

It seems to me there is an obvious answer

Sod sending the people we need to defend our borders off to die in some jungle shithole. It's not as if it's our f**king empire any more.

Pretty much john , but as i sais , in effect this is a non story by the usual shit stirring mainstream media cheered on by the usual hysterics.

An MoD spokesman said: "79% of all serving personnel have received a vaccination and we have already vaccinated 74% of 18 to 29-year-olds since June 18. The latter is ahead of UK national vaccine statistics.

"All personnel serving overseas have been offered a vaccine and there are no concerns regarding take-up as only 0.5% of armed forces personnel have declined a vaccine."

They could be stationed at home , and 100 % of the 300 000 military personnel vaccinated , and cases would still be rising as it is in the general popualtion.

Another hysterical covid story . In line with much of what they have been punting for the last 18 months or so.

<t>In matters of taxation, Lord Clyde\'s summing up in the 1929 case Inland Revenue v Ayrshire Pullman Services is worth a glance.</t>

If they are rising they can't all be double jabbed.

The vaccine doesnt stop you catching covid , as you well know ,hence why cases are rising. Another non story.

The story is about  covid cases rising now among the forces , not last year or the year before.

If they are rising they can't all be double jabbed.

No I would not, because that soldier is likely to be sent to a Covid infested country at very short notice be it for a humanitarian reason or to defend people in that country.

thank christ the government have vaccinated 79 % of personnel then.

if a twenty year old soldier had been vaccinated before you , you would be the first one complaining about it.

A large rise in coronavirus cases among the UK's armed forces is a threat to national security and shows the government is failing to protect troops, MPs have warned.
