I have posted many links to the mess and shit tourists are leaving behind them, you don't bother to read them.

Unlike Copay, there is nowhere in the world using your other ridiculous suggestions.

You have to forgive quackers nick , quackers is a limp dem who has never got over nick clegg trashing his beloved party  , never mind brexit or anything else  , and has been wallowing in self pity ever since hence the ridiculous drive by comment dripping in sarcasm.

If it's OK to replace the NHS with health insurance schemes, why stop there?

We could hand over defence to a consortium of military equipment manufacturers - mostly American.

And why not hand policing over to security companies.

The monarchy could be sold to the Disney Corporation or even to Netflix.

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Thomas

What a pathetic drive by post.

The nuance of the thread is about looking at ways to improve the nhs systems in all our countries , and seeing what works in others that we might copy .

Most sensible people recognise that fact except the usual suspects with their closed minds while they shriek loudly about the horrors of the yank system which no one as far as im aware is minded to copy .

The NHS  , like certain others subjects , cannot be debated with any reason because of the hysterics who will not tolerate any change  , hence it will keep spiralling into decay until we are forced to confront its problems.

Thomas that is ONE persons experience it does not reflect the reality.
France has serious problems with healthcare including including corrupt doctors.

Dont shoot the messenger pappy simply because you dont like the message.

For example , you regularly used the world health systems imperfect system for international comparisons when it came to mocking the uk conservative government over covid deaths...

...and now when the same organisation compares differeing nations health systems......you simply try and rubbish the methodology as it doesnt say what you want it to.

;D

How many times have we been here before with you pappy?

Thomas you have no idea about the problems within the French health care system despite spending far more on healthcare than than the UK does.
Frankly you are in total ignorance of the reality and not for the first time.

No one but you is suggesting the french or anyone elses health system doesnt have problems. There is no health system utopia.

Despite their imperfections , the french system among others is regularly credited as being better than the uk systems , hence your earlier comment..

There has been a lot of privatisation and marketisation forced into the NHS these past four decades, and this has not helped. New Labour's PFI schemes are also an ongoing financial disaster for the NHS. And in spite of efficiency drives, the number of managers and pen pushers have multiplied. Also too many top NHS doctors and surgeons devote too much of their time to lucrative private patients. Fewer managers and pen pushers, much less private involvement, NHS doctors and surgeons required to work full time for the NHS, a full reappraisal of ongoing PFI contracts, with a legal right introduced to cancel any found to be excessive in cost pending renegotiation, and better paid frontline staff are all needed.

Good luck with that.

The last person to try and constrain health professionals remuneration and emoyment was, bizarrely, Maggie Thatcher.

Complete contradiction Smurf.

There's nobody doing the jobs but the tourists are making loads of mess from nothing? I assume the tourists are bringing rubbish with them just to throw it on the floor!

The locals are that stupid they won't take up a paid job but would rather volunteer and pick rubbish up for nothing?

Pleanty of things we can learn from other countries , but as long as the labour types continue to "canonise" the nhs beyond any form of criticism and change for the better , it will continue its downwards spiral and ever increasing demands for more and more money into the bottomless pit.

Quite.

Culture shock: How the British health service just doesn't really compare to France's

London based French blogger Muriel Demarcus explains the culture shock of getting treated in the UK compared to France. And it doesn't make for easy reading if you appreciate the British Health service.

In short, let's tell it as it is: it looks like the British put up with a lot more than we French do. Which is why, I believe, French expats need to be extra-careful when they move, especially if they suffer from a chronic condition that requires specific care. It's all about finding what works for you.

https://www.thelocal.fr/20170426/ten-ways-the-british-health-service-is-different-to-frances/

" When you are on your own with a sick kid, things can become very stressful and it's easy to panic (been there, done it). In France, your physician always listens to you. You're always given a prescription, a routine examination, and taken seriously.

Your symptoms will never be minimised, and if your doctor has the slightest doubt, you'll be referred for a scan, an X-ray or a blood test. Needless to say, things are slightly different on the British side of the Channel. "

I think that is pretty much the case with the NHS as well Tommy. This Muriel Demarcus sounds like any worried mum anywhere in the world.

I think the problem is that the physician always listens to you, you always given a prescription, a blood test whatever, but you don't necessarily get cured.

The daughter of a friend was a GP until a couple of years ago when she finally snapped. Turning on the patient's mum she said that it was just a childhood aliment and that the kid's only problem was that the parent was being hysterical. Probably true, but the friend's daughter was forced to resign and marry a banker. She now has a child of her own and is just as nutty as any other parent.
