Just keep an eye open while you're there, and do your shopping in the last couple of days. Not much is likely to change in personal allowances unless you get foot and mouth or swine fever.

We're hoping to visit in October. Shame about the booze restrictions, but tins of confit de canard, frozen escargot, and fois gras will be for our Xmas menu if we can't get to the in-laws/grand parents. Oysters and pain de compeigne will be for enjoyment upon return.

Bon voyage...

No interested in the booze and fags limits, plus I am always careful what food products I bring back anyway, due the problem of bringing diseases back into the country.

Funny, but that would be germany breaking apart if it left, just like the uk looks like it is about to.

Can you list your tour dates cause you're clearly a comedian.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Finally you acknowledge that Germany leaving would break up the EU.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

In that respect many things could happen before you go — what have you heard whispers about...?

How long have you got? (The rules are changing at the start of October anyway.)

Will it be contraband or are we allowed unlimited bags still?

What we are allowed is somewhat up in the air at the moment.

When it comes to the cock-up that is Brexit I haven't stopped worrying.
(The only silver lining for me is, IF I can get out of Britain in a few weeks time I can bring back enough goods to cover the UK Christmas shortages.)

If this is the level the UK is at now, then it's time to start worrying.

There is no infrastructure or the specialist personnel  in place at  British ports to carry out the checks needed  and no signs of any action at all being taken.
And as you prob know this is in breach of WTO, as the UK are favouring one 3rd country over another 3rd country. Yes someone will come along and say the WTO are toothless but if the USA complains or China complains then it is a big problem. Considering the USA has the UK "at the back of the line" it's not like they will do the UK any favours. They might feel sorry for the UK and just turn a blind eye.
I saw on news-night some idiot saying the EU were punishing the UK for implementing their checks so "stringently", seriously, the UK doing what it said it would do is now classed as "punishing" the UK. His idea was the EU should just turn a blind eye and let UK goods move freely into the EU. If this is the level the UK is at now, then it's time to start worrying.
