I think most of out turkeys at Christmas come from farms in Norfolk. We never have turkey as it is such a pain to get cooked right and takes too long. The French can do one.

Thanks for pointing out what can go wrong with foreign investment Sheepbrain and a big thanks for pointing out to the minions we are actually forming a back door EU parliament. But Vlad did save our bacon once he could make enough out of it.

That's true. And many of the goods sold in UK supermarkets are produced in the UK.

But in other sectors, like the car industry, essential components are made half a world away — eg, chips in Taiwan.

Even though Taiwan Semiconductor Mfg Co has pledged to spend $100 billion on increasing production over the next few years to meet surging demand for semiconductors, China's aggressive activities in the region could interrupt supplies...

Supplies have been on their arse since Covid hit. Try buying a PS-5, they're like rocking horse 💩.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Actually, some will.
The staff pay taxes, the company collect VAT which all goes to HM Treasury.
We've created this "buy anything anywhere" society, now we have to live with the good and bad aspects of that.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

But then, not as though while you were playing Left and Right politics you cannot say you weren't all told, the people who actually run the place only have one ambition and it ain't making things better for you.

Probably not.

US taxation is pretty brutal and set to get worse under Dead Joe. Any money earned from Morrisons will probably end up sloshing around the City rather than any place in America.

But it won't be in the British economy.

What is wrong with foreign investment is any profits from it is goes abroad out of the UK economy.
(The latest example  being the purchase of Morrisons:-

The Russians know how to rub a nose in it?
https://www.rt.com/business/536330-uk-automobile-production-drops/
Who makes the vast majority of chips?
Who is also buying any outside chip producers?
This rocket science is rather trying.

We have been told for decades how great it is by the Westminster party as the rest of us have said don't be complete morons you globalist aholes.

Anyway, it seems Russian cheap gas is at an end with supply cut to a third and prices going through the roof. Blame the Russians, I don't think so, they were handed it on a plate.
EU inflation is only at 13% anyway, I am sure Barry can give you a few figures of what that actually means. Certainly, the majority who lived under the Thatcher Conservative government can.
