EU admits its relationship with Switzerland could COLLAPSE as the country resists attempts to force it to yield sovereignty to Brussels under new draft trade deal

  • European Commission VP Maros Sefcovic expressed worry over the relationship
  • Brussel has for years wanted a clear trade deal between the EU and Switzerland
  • EU-Swiss ties are currently governed by more than 100 bilateral agreements
  • But the Swiss in May pulled out of a draft deal which was not seen as favourable
  • It comes less than a year after Britain and the EU narrowly rescued a trade deal
  • The EU-UK agreement was reached hours before the Brexit transition deadline
A senior EU official has admitted that the bloc's relationship with Switzerland could collapse over trade negotiations.

European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic said the EU's relationship with Switzerland could fall apart if negotiations over Switzerland's place in the EU internal market fail.
Brussels has pushed for years for a treaty to cap an array of bilateral accords and require the Swiss to routinely adopt changes to single market rules, but talks between the parties broke off in May over concerns about yielding too much sovereignty to the bloc

I doubt it. Johnson and farage are that daft they won a referendum , when you serious remoaners with your pie charts and economic doomongering couldnt.

You remainers just cant connect with people can you gerry?;D

Thats cause as i told you afore , you dont understand people and their thoughts wants and feelings. To you , its all spreadsheets and economics , and even then , you arent very good at it.

and the reality....?

Tell you gerry , am gonnae miss all you hysterics when you are gone. Its brillaint listening to you screaming all the time about brexit.
Oh yea, 40 odd turkeys for the 65million brits. Case closed. Of course your 3 month old article was later superseded with this one

https://www.theguardian.com/food/2021/nov/17/staff-from-overseas-boost-uks-festive-turkey-workforce

Nothing like an emergency visa scheme and one poultry producer scrambling to get 900 foreign staff to get those turkeys out. Bought in frozen turkeys flying out the door at Iceland, prob bought in from the EU, stopping the shortage. There was an issue driven by Brexit, but a 10% hike in prices with emergency measures sorted it out. Like I've been saying, death by a 1000 cuts, no cliff edge as predicted by leavers like yourself. Wait until next yr when the checks are in place Dancing

I'm not a remainer, no matter how many times you spout it, as much as your not a remainer either.
Second why would the UK have any shortages, you've not implemented any of the changes you voted for. It's as if you only wanted Brexit by name only. Still accepting ECJ rule in NI and a border down the middle of your country.
Making up stories of shortages so you can later say they didn't happen doesn't change reality.

Brexit WIN! Project Fear 'evaporated' as Remainers mocked for being left in 'wilderness'

BREXIT BRITAIN has received huge backing after Project Fear supporters and Remainers were brutally mocked for finding themselves left out in the "wilderness" over their failed doom-mongering campaign.

The UK formally left the European Union in January 1, 2021 - nearly one year ago - after signing an eleventh-hour post-Brexit trade deal with Brussels. Remainers attempting to campaign for the UK to one day rejoin have continued to lash out at the decision while desperately trying to dismiss Brexit Britain's successes. But lucrative trade deals have been signed, including one with Australia earlier this month which the UK Government described as a "historic trade agreement" - the first from scratch since leaving the EU.

Huge companies are now looking to Brexit Britain as well, including oil giant Royal Dutch Shell, which is scrapping its dual share structure and moving its head office to the UK from the Netherlands.
Last month, motoring giant Nissan announced its huge Sunderland plant will be at the centre of a £13.2billion investment, with the hub being used to develop 23 electric cars by 2030.
The latest forecasts from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) also show the UK economy is set to outperform the EU's top economies and that of the Eurozone as a whole this year and next.

Nile Gardiner, a foreign policy analyst and former aide to the late Margaret Thatcher, has destroyed Project Fear and argued their warnings have now "evaporated

i think you are flogging a dead horse at the minute. The bhoys and ghirls were waiting on the great christmas turkey shortage becuase of brexit that never materialsed gerry , and everyone went off when it never appeared in fits of laughter.

I tell you gerry ,  you remainers talk a good game , but your doom and gloom predictions just seem a wee bit wide of the mark .

Maybe this time next year gerry eh?;D
