Stand by for the French opening the flood gates, hang on ........:D
And Mrs Avon dear Liar blaming us for luring them.
And the Brexit obsession in the minds of the usual suspects rumbles on, in spite of our departure.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

Ursula has it covered. She's going to feed the lot that are throwing rocks at the Polish police.

Bit about zemmour here....

The French Have a New Donald Trump in Eric Zemmour, the Far-Right Firebrand

A onetime fixture of an ultraconservative TV network, the would-be candidate is stoking fear and loathing across France.

Perhaps the main thing the two men share is their status as outsiders that no one took seriously until they began to get traction in national polls. In Zemmour's case, the rise has been meteoric: Credited in June with a 5.5% share of the theoretical vote, he has more than tripled that margin and now has a serious chance of facing off against President Emmanuel Macron in the runoff of France's two-round election next April. Until recently, conventional wisdom had pointed to a replay of the 2017 matchup between Macron and Marine Le Pen, of the far-right anti-immigrant National Rally (R.N.) party, who has been trying to moderate her image. But by outflanking her on the radical right—and relentlessly insisting that "Marine can't win"—Zemmour could lure a substantial number of Le Pen's 2017 voters to his camp.

Though he is not yet an official candidate, Zemmour has been sucking up all the media oxygen. He is a constant feature in TV interviews and debates. His face is emblazoned on the covers of major magazines. Crisscrossing the country on a book tour that is in fact a proto-campaign blitz, he has been drawing enthusiastic crowds at each stop—along with gaggles of sometimes violent demonstrators denouncing him as a fascist and racist.

Eric Zemmour

@ZemmourEric

Let's keep benefits for French nationals only. This will save the treasury 20 billion euros, which we can give back to the French working class people. Less benefits for foreigners, more money for French people."

We think we are bad regarding immigration . Former french president francois hollande spent four hours yesterday giving a french court testimony regarding the 2015 terror attacks in france.

https://www.ft.com/content/ad05b0e4-1034-471b-a503-39d24e425676

and current french presidential candidate eric zemmour said this about hollande..

Quote

Zemmour says Hollande "preferred that French people die rather than prevent migrants from coming to France".

:P ouch.

Two items sitting side by side on the BBC website this morning..

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-59256927
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-59257107

So on the one hand, the presence of about 5000 migrants (est) on the Polish EU border with Belarus is "an attempt to destabilise the security of the European Union"

On the other, some 20,000 migrants have actually crossed the English Channel from France to the UK so far this year, but somehow is not being described as an attempt to destabilise the security of the UK.

How come there is such a bizarre disparity?
If you control the media you control the narrative.

Much easier to conjure up bogeymen such as putin or macron to blame than confront the failings of governments unable or unwilling to protect their own borders.

Migration as we all know , especially the EU F.O.M , was a big big issue for many in england , including on this very forum , and how that man johnson is getting away with blaming everyone else for his regimes crass stupidity and inability to control englands borders is beyond me.

Funny one of the two companies predict extracting 20,000 tonnes per annum.

They would claim that wouldn't they?  The British Geological Survey thinks otherwise.

If opportunity knocked, Pappy would complain about the noise.

Actually, the important stuff is deuterium, a hydrogen isotope that is readily available in seawater.

It's bloody nasty stuff that. Drink too much of it and it interferes with many of the chain reactions that keep you alive....

Might work wonders as a contraceptive too
Except it mucks with the Krebs citric acid cycle so you might have serious issues no blue bill could solve ...

We might do Tommy. According to these guys, we might have nuclear fusion in four years, which should please the SNP. From all accounts Wee Krankie isn't really into oil and such. She seems to have a dream of an independent Scotland (well, as independent as Brussels will allow), powered by LGBT rainbows.

The English will still need a supply of lithium to provide tritium. Fortunately there is plenty of it in Cornwall, so if we pack Pappy off to the slave mines to do his bit by old England, we should be ok.
Brilliant stuff borkie.

Thats what i like to see.....a bit of self dependency.

I see the labour party have just went into the lead in the polls..........not enough to form  a majority , but still a bit of a blow for the blond muppet.

wee Nick outshining him on the world stage , and now even the hapless mr charisma sir keith steamer overtaking him in the polls , all the sleaze allegations seem to be denting the tories big time.

I dont think much of your pm at all this political lark mate i must say.

There isn't I have already referenced that, Cornwall can at best supply (if it can be extracted economically,) 4000 tonnes of Lithium per annum.
The  two battery factories being proposed will need 40000 tonnes per annum. So 36000 tonnes will need to be imported.
