What is your source for that please?

You should apologise for your false claims before expecting others to provide evidence.

The thing is, it is already clear that Omicron, although said to be a mutated version of Sar-Cov2 is not actually SARS.
What is your source for that please?

The government is literally waiting, fingers crossed, for a single person to die (from anything, maybe getting hit by a bus), and who tests positive for the Moronic Variant, and boom, that will be justification for lockdown.  Even a vaccine death will be blamed on the Moronic.
You're probably right.

SARS means Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome which is a cause for alarm.
This causes cold symptoms, or no symptoms and is neither a SARS or cause for alarm. However it is being used by the government to suppress society whilst telling us it is for our own good. It is not.

by the way you dont get to be arbiter over what is and isnt credible with some of the guff you have posted over the years on this and various other sites.

They are only "guff" to you because you suffer from cognitive dissonance. I use the systematic sc(k)epticism test for any research papers.  That makes it easy to rubbish a source or not.

The problem is why do you trust it given it's long list of cock-ups and cover ups?

Perhaps not a question of trust, but logic.  They are pro-vaccine and therefore love Covid fear, and biased in favour of masks to create more fear.  So the only reason to criticise masks is if they can no longer hide the truth.

so thats two different organistations you are trying to rubbish because they dont say what you want them to?

Why do you trust the tories on covid restrictions in your country when you normally rubbish them at every stage and accuse anyone associated with the party( no matter if its doctors scientists etc) of being in the paid employ of tory high command?

You need a comfort blanket regarding covid pappy and anyone will do , even tories

The us centre for disease control is a credible link which rubbishes face mask wearing.

You are one of the least credible posters on any site i have witnessed on the internet , often posting links you havent even read which often say the opposite of what you are claiming.

If it a cold, that will quickly be known, there a mass of research on the subject going back to 1946.

There is insufficient data (yet) on Omicron for ANYONE to make an informed comment backed up with actuarial data.
That will take several weeks.
Some people (anti-vaxxers,) persistently post dangerous lies.

There is insufficient data (yet) on a dust particle that landed on my knee, for ANYONE to make an informed comment backed up with actuarial data.  That will take several weeks.

Indeed. The evidence coming in from omicron so far seems to be suggesting three things.

Firstly that it is far more transmissable than the earlier variants.

Secondly, that the vaccines appear to be less effective against it, though the different percentages being given related to that and to the supposed efficacy of booster jabs are confusing and clearly suggest that they do not yet know the full facts here yet.

But thirdly - and this appears to be the saving grace which makes the previous two points much less of a worry - is that the evidence thus far seems to be suggesting that omicron is a substantially milder version of the virus in terms of illness, with far fewer hospitalisations and deaths.

Im other words, it could well be something we are all going to get at some point, and when we do we might feel a bit shit for a few days but we'll get over it. A bit like a cold really.

However, it is early days and we do need several more weeks of data both from here and around the world for all this to be confirmed, so it is right to be cautious in the meantime. People working from home when they can for a while and wearing masks in indoor locations are sensible precautions. I don't think on the evidence thus far that fuller lockdowns will be necessary. And to be honest, now that the extent to which those making the rules have been showing blatant contempt for them has been revealed, most of us would make our own decisions now and ignore instructions from the government anyway.

I for example am going to my mums on Christmas day and I don't give a flying feck what the government has to say about it.

I have to agree, except on government restrictions.  Advice would be sufficient.  It's not acceptable for mandates based on 'not knowing' something.  There will be many many mutations, so do we need mandates for 2 months every time a new variant comes along?  Do we spend millions on new vaccines which won't be needed if it's a cold?  If you can't see the decisions are about profit, then I don't know what to say.
