There is a logical inconsistency here. You disapprove of Sunak because he spent loads of money when Boris told him to. Yet you cite this as a reason for sticking with Boris, the man who told him to do it. lol
No, I disapprove of Sunak because he didn't do much of anything, while Boris was happy to piss away vast chunks of cash in the hope that would solve the problem. Bojo always reminds me of his fellow socialist Clement Attlee. Neither have or had much idea of economics, but both feel and felt that if you do the right thing, financial problems usually sort themselves out.

I have heard in the media rumours of two so far being on manouvres and making soundings - Sunak and Truss.

Nothing concrete as yet.

Not sure Truss would be much of an improvement, but we'll see. Some of Sunak's shine has worn off of late too but he remains one of the most popular Tories in the country for now, mostly for doing some very un-Tory things re spending. He is both more trusted and more popular than Boris himself by some margin. I suspect that were he to replace Bozo and promise a clean sweep with a return to honesty and integrity the Tories  would enjoy a seriously large bounce and Labour would be stuffed.

But whilst Boris is a kind of Trumpian populist prepared to do whatever he thinks will make him popular, I believe Sunak is at heart a genuine fiscal conservative, and there would be big economic changes in that direction were he to become leader. How much of any levelling up agenda would survive under him is questionable and how well the public will react to tighter fiscal rules in the long term is also open to question. But his and any other potential Tory leader's popularity would be greatly helped by the vacuous and uninspiring nothingness that is the Labour party right now.

Sunak spent money because Johnson told him too and despite having been Foreign Secretary for nearly three months, Liz Truss has failed to upset a single foreigner. F@@@ the pair of them. I will stick with Boris.

And who would they be?
totally with you here. Who is being talked about borkie? Who is there to replace johnson that fits the bill of an honest upstanding traditional conservative?

Sunak has all the slippery air of tory blair , cant stand clowns like kwartang or the repulsive Gove , so who is as popular as johnson?

Johnson is a vote winner and from what i can see he is still popualr , while none of his understudies fit the bill.

I think the tories have to think very carefully about throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Better the devil you know and all that.

We lost salmond , obviously different , he resigned , and look at the muppet that replaced him.

There is just a lot of pissed off people regarding covid in my opinion , rather than anything else. Look at scotland and europe before complaining about covid restrictions in england , where things are much worse.

So BJ now takes parental leave for the new baby and in normal situations that's fine but this smacks of him running and hiding behind his wife's skirts in the hope that he doesn't have to face the music. Bring the removal lorries while they are at it and let the true Conservatives run the show.
