Dear editor

Remember the Queen Mother and all that talk of her heroic visits to the East End of London during the blitz?

Well it makes me sick! My grandfather was a frequent visitor to the East End of London during the dark days of the blitz, and he was never hailed as a hero by the people of London. And this in spite of the fact that he put his life on the line during every such visit by flying Heinkel bombers for the Luftwaffe.

Signed..
