I have had to report that comment to moderation as I am not allowed to respond to it.
Well done, Smurf. I'm sure when they see a post has reported, they will guess who has pressed the button. If you hadn't made it another Tory bad thread, it might have stayed on topic.

But you voted Tory, yourself. You said so. You were stupid enough to vote for Boris Johnson, you couldn't make it up.

The "French" take the piss out of the English far more than the English take the piss out of them.  Since the English were stupid enough to elect Boris Johnson as Prime Minister I can't say I blame them.

If you can't see why Carr's "joke" about Roma being incinerated by the Nazis is beyond the pale you need to take a long hard look at yourself.
The question is do comedians have the right to joke about what they see fit , not wether pappysmurf and the socialist workers of cornwall deem it acceptable to their moral sensibilities.

You  , the man on record threatening to shoot sitting tory prime ministers , politicians at the time like ester mcvey , demanding gun turrets and barbed wire fences set up to "deal" with migrants now complaining about someone elses joke being "tasteless" is fackin hilarious , not to mention the typical hypocrisy we have all come to expect and know from someone lacking in self awareness as you.

If it was a joke about "tories " being incinerated rather than gypsies , you would be the first to crack a smile , so dont give me any of your fake fackin moral outrage.

They do. Wether its the english scottish french or roma gypsies , the point is why are one group deemed fair game for comedy but not another?yawn. Find another thread to troll for tory bad.
Thomas if you watched as many foreign news channels as I do you would realise the World is now laughing at us not just the French.

Why is it alright to take the piss out the french , but not roma gypsies?

Humour stops and offending begins when people stop laughing .

How so?

Surely humour is in the eye of the beholder. What one finds funny another maybe doesnt , and anyone who has been the butt end of a joke will undoubtedly take offence?

QuoteI remember years ago at a local football do when the 'comedian ' decided to target  a Japanese fella who was the manager of one of the teams  .

His opening gag was one of why do Japs have squinty eyes and went into the expression made at the climax of sex which I suppose was fair game . When he then started what he thought was a joke about Hiroshima the room went into silence . He didn't get another laugh and gave up within 5 minutes .
Not sure what you are saying here streetwalker...are you saying the japs or incidents like hiroshima are off limits?

surely the principle in this thread is the right of comedians to take the piss out of whoever they see fit without some group or outrage mob calling for censorship or apology. Not wether a particular comedian or joke is funny.

Why is it alright to take the piss out the french , but not roma gypsies? Why do we have to get outraged about one particular historical incident like the nazi holocaust , but keep quiet about the british atrocities during the south african holocaust during the boer war?

The principle to me is the fact this is all part of a wider and concerning issue of attack on freedom of speech , and what is deemed acceptable and who judges what is acceptable and by what authority have they become the arbiters of what is acceptable in society.

I just personally think everyday now we are seeing outrage mobs or victim groups calling for apologies or demanding some statue somewhere is taken down because it causes offence.

Jimmy carr to me is probably one of the worst comedians i have ever heard , but someone somewhere must like him or he wouldnt be a high profile comedian. I dont like him or his jokes , but i defend his right to joke about what he sees fit.

What a sad world we are currently in , where increasingly victim groups with an axe to grind are currently calling for censorship of the internet , clamp down on freedom of speech , and who we should or shouldnt be outraged about .

Im surprised i didnt get banned yesterday for taking the pish out the useless english rugby team.::):)

A joke too far , yes , we stopped laughing . Offended ? No ,just not funny . Carr needs to get his coat .

"How to you get a gay man to have sex with a woman ?

Shit in her .........." (you'll ban me if I finish this line)

That was the last occasion on which Mr Tax Avoidance King Carr got into trouble for his "stand up" routine that I can recall.

But in the spirit of the moment ...

What's the difference between Roy Chubby Brown, Richard Digance, Jethro and Jimmy Carr ?

I have actually broken into laughter at some point during a routine delivered by the first three

EDIT: I should perhaps in the spirit of fairness add that at least Carr has done one good thing. He's got the Jews to admit Gypsies were there. When Bronowski pulled his stunt complaining that his shoes were getting ruined because he was standing in a puddle containing the dissolved ashes if six million of his counterparts they rather want d us to believe they were the only ones there, and when they resurrected their Holocaust Memorial Day to get their public expression of angst in before a month of black history handwringing, the chief rabbi told Channel 4 news it was important they set aside a day to remember the genocide of the Jews, and it was important this was not forgotten, and should be remembered separately from other events where other people were subjected to the same, because it was not the same.
wonder how much outrage would be directed at carr from the liberal left if he hadnt once upon a time used a tax avoidance scheme?

I dont like the guy , as in he is about as fackin funny as a hole in the heart , but it does get incredibly boring now listening to people getting all faux outraged over what idiot has said what about who each day.

I never liked Jimmy Carr. He joins the list of so-called 'alternative' comedians who have said disgraceful things.

Gypsies and Irish Travellers are the "least-liked" people in the UK, with nearly half of people feeling "negative" towards them, according to a new report.

The statistics revealed by the University of Birmingham also found that Muslims are the second "least-liked" community.

Report author, Dr Stephen Jones, a lecturer in sociology and religious studies, told Sky News: "What's interesting is you can see there is, for example, discrimination against black African Caribbean people in the UK, but in surveys people do not express that hostility in the way that they do towards Muslims, in the way that they do towards Gypsies and Irish Travellers.
"So I think there's a certain sense in which that kind of hostility is publicly acceptable, it doesn't get the same kind of pushback that other forms of racism and prejudice receive.
