What you wrote showed how far out of touch you are. Brexit has heaped massive costs onto exporters to and importers from the EU. It is making either uneconomic to do for many small businesses. That will be made worse over the next few months because the government has not put the staff, the infrastructure or made the paperwork digital.
I run a business that trades with the EU. My net business costs have not changed a single penny. My usual beginning of the year jaunt to Italy was replace by a trip to Chicago instead. Flights were more but I passed that into my customer.
Old sluggish businesses that refuse to adapt die and are replaced by new dynamic businesses that are ready to stick 2 fingers up to the EU. We don't need the EU, 70% of business is done outside of the block, probably more now have left.

Stop telling me businesses are going to fail because of Brexit, I'm not interested, slash and burn and make way for new grown is the answer.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

It doesn't. But Pappy is one of Gerry's love children so very little that he says makes sense.
Pappy makes me laugh. For years , as a typical socialist worker and union man , he has been shouting fack business , tax them till the pips squeak to keep his  layabout mates in their benefit lifestyle they so love.

Now he is telling us we must stop everything and listen to business. Brexit is bad , and so are the tories.:D

Unfortunately for pappy business dont run the country , politicans elected by us plebs do. If they did run the country , we could do away with parliament and have business leaders making the decisions.....but they dont.

So while the plebs voted for brexit , and have their boots on politicians necks over it , then tough. As nick says , business has to adapt.

I tell you borkie , when pappy picks a losing cause , he really goes in at the deep end.

And how does that change what I wrote?

Have you actually got anything original to post?
All you post is that everyone is clueless and some link you've found.
Why don't you actually put an argument together for once, or is that way above you intellect?

Ive had my own successful business for years, I evolve and don't have all my eggs in one basket. If other businesses fail cause they don't adapt tough 💩.

Tough. You either evolve or you become extinct. If only they'd had 5 years to prepare!!

Try telling that to people who businesses have had to shut down or about to due to Brexit.

It would show you a more accurate picture than your cherry picked one.
How about you look at it and then put a post together instead of your usual 1 liners.

I wonder if the Commons Public Accounts Committee agrees with your assessment Nick. But in any case, growth figures aren't exactly a perfect science when for the past year we closed up the economy, and the Tories won't be able to hide behind Covid forever. Next year they are going to have to explain stagnation I suspect and when UK businesses aren't trading within the EU because of red tape and told to trade with the rest of the world to make that up, I wonder do you think that will compensate.
Businesses will fail, new ones will start but the U.K. will always prosper. We've just got a multi billion pound deal with Switzerland, and between us we have 90% of all European pharmaceutical business.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Apart from the fact we beat everyone in Europe except the Germans on everything, including 2020.
And as for Brexit, as you can see it is killing us.....NOT!!

Try going back to 2008.
