No its not because its Chelsea but more to do with the laws and rights of individuals . That buying property in the UK is safe for foreign investors .
Take that safe investment away and investors will look elsewhere .

Abramovich has huge 'investment' in London. Houses as well as Chelsea FC. I just have a question. He is the most obvious Putin supporting oligarch here yet as yet he is not subject to sanctions. Why? Because it's Chelsea? Because he has friends in high places here? He is reported to be trying to offload all his holdings here in a hurry and his yacht was seen leaving wherever it was and is headed to a safe harbour where it can't be touched. What's gong on?
