There's less evidence of alien life than there is of God, unless one considers God to be an alien.  :shrg:

Life may well have developed elsewhere in the universe but whos to say we on earth have not developed faster than others and are the most advance ?

Bit depressing I know but when people talk of aliens and there must be something out there in the million of stars I don't think we should be expecting some sort of super species .

Having attended motorcycle rallies for some years I have a suspicion Neanderthals are not extinct and that aliens being among us would not surprise me.

I think only humans could be that arrogant to think that we are so special that no other life could exist.

Something like 200 billion planets in our galaxy and a 100 billion galaxies, we can't possibly be alone.

Well, yes. As my degree is not that dissimilar to hers and she and I would have followed the exact same syllabus in our first year, it will come as no surprise that I agree with the first part of her statements quoted in the article. That there probably is some form of organised chemical reaction going on somewhere that exhibits the seven features of living organisms as taught in O level biology.

It's the second part, that such may be here now and we can't see them that I have issues with, for unless they're living in a colony world next to a deep oceanic thermal vent, she's getting dangerously (for her professional status) close to the ideas of Lovecraft and Von Daniken
