No, don't give a monkeys about what the UK thinks, it's 10 years in the Gulag that worries me. There's literally drones buzzing about overhead most nights, haven't got a clue what they are doing but they never go directly over the top of people and never lower than about 50 feet. They flash green and red whilst moving but then go solid red when they hover. There are men in blue suits that sit in the hotel reception with a notebook all day, no idea what they are looking for but me and my lad never speak when we pass through. Customer showed us around a couple of apartments earlier but it was in a building that looked like Prisoner Cell Block H.
They also play 80's rave music in the restaurants, now that is annoying.

All very dramatic but not exactly an answer to the question I asked, which is why you could not video some of the tat you say you have seen on Russian TV.
As I said, its on public broadcast, who going to care whether you record it or not.
I really don't see why you need to worry about 10 years in the Gulag??!!

Meanwhile, back in the real world......

The war stumbles to a standstill, mainly on account of heavy rain and the infamous Ukrainian Mud.

Long before though, the Ukrainian counter attacks of the Summer and early Autumn had ground to a halt
In Kherson, the front line has moved in weeks, the Russians fell back to a prepared defensive line and the Ukrainian assaults have simply smashed themselves to pieces on it.
The territory gained has very little strategic value, with no major towns or hubs taken. Simply open farmland in which the advancing Ukrainian forces have been shown to be little more than sitting ducks.

There was much talk a couple of months ago of a major Ukrainian counter attack along the Zaphorisia and South Donetsk front, with large Ukrainian forces being seen to be amassed in key positions along it. The attack has not yet materialised and it seems increasingly likely now that it will not.

In the Donetsk City and Bakhmut stretch of the front, the Russians continue their slow advance breaking through the multiple defensive lines of the Ukrainians. An advance North of Peski, over the last 48 hours is starting to put the major city of Ardvika in near Tactical Encirclement, just as the same situation is starting to unfold around Bakhmut. Either of these towns being taken by the Russians would blow then entire Donetsk Front wide open. Not surprisingly, the Ukrainians are pouring in their reserves into these two vicious meat grinders.

In the Northern Luhansk sector, there has been a ongoing series of Russian counter attacks looking to push the Ukrainians back over the Ostkil River. A wide swathe of territory that was regarded as under Ukrainian control is now back in the Grey Sector with a series of attacks and counter attacks from both sides. Difficult to say what exactly is going on as both sides are trying to keep a news black out, It is noticeable though that the clashes are being reported ever further to the West of the territory.

The Russian lines have reportedly been reinforced to by about 70.000 extra troops. Some say these are reservists, others that these are regulars released from other parts of the country by the Reservists.

Other new forces are being reported as assembling along the Russian Ukraine border and it is widely anticipated that the Russians are waiting for the temperature to drop enough for the mud to freeze and so be able to start their winter offensive.

Just to summarise. Zelensky claims he know has up to a million men in uniform. This force: trained by NATO, equipped by NATO, "advised" by Senior NATO officers and given the benefit of NATO intelligence and Electronic Warfare, has lost 20% of the Nations Territory and had their major counter attacks fought to a standstill without any gaining any major strategic prizes, by a forced of no more than 250,000. What little progress they were making has been stopped dead and partially reversed by the addition of a further 70,000. A new army about the same size as the original SMO force is now waiting to join the war.

No, actually Iranian drones as Iran join with Russia in their war against the West. That is a worrying aspect, that the Russians have enlisted the help of a dangerous terrorist state.
