Actually, Truss is being a pretty smart little soldier. She knows that the core Conservative vote is in England. If Scotland ever dumped the SNP the move would be to Labour not the Tories. Wales seems destined to remain a Labour strong hold and Christ knows what Northern Ireland wants, it is pretty certain that the Almighty doesn't.

So dumping Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland has to be a plus as far as the Tories are concerned. Why they should oppose Indy2 I do not know. Maybe Liz Truss is just having a bit of fun torturing the SNP?
