In that case I had better get my house in order and get done all the things outstanding.

Cross your fingers if you like. I think it will become endemic. Keep fit and hope your immune system can beat it. If mine can't I know where I am going!  :hattip

I doubt mine will cope so what will be will be I guess.

Never mind. I will just cross my fingers and smile. There is little we can do if it is headed our way.

Cheerful aren't you?

Ignore him T00ts if you have a respiratory problem keep yourself away from others and use a mask if you need too, also and it may sound paranoid but if you do hibernate open your post wearing gloves and burn it if it's the usual crap.

I am merely passing on the advice from experts. Unless you fork out a lot of money the masks the majority of people are buying are totally useless.

Apparently the French government  are putting their suspected Coronavirus patients into quarantine near Marseilles. I wonder if that is  Château d'If.

No govts are ever honest about such things, they want to avoid panic.

To be fair to the Chinese they have tried hard to contain this and it could've started in any densely populated country,I remember the swine flu and seeing the mobile mortuary units on the motorways, nothing in the news though.

The majority of face masks being sold are totally useless for the purpose people are buying them for. One that actually works in the case of a virus is £200. (Currently three left in stock.)

Quotehere are a couple different ways viruses such as this one can go around. When an infected person coughs or sneezes, they expel respiratory droplets into the air that carry the virus. They can also spread those droplets around if they touch their eyes and nose then touch another person or surface. If someone were to come into contact with these contagious droplets — either in the air or by touching a surface that contained the droplets — they, too, could get sick.

There is some evidence that, when used correctly, face masks can slow the spread of airborne viruses. For example, one study from 2008 found that those who used a mask were 80% less likely to get the flu. Another 2009 report found that, in tandem with frequent hand-washing, face masks lowered people's risk of getting the flu by about 70%.

But the masks aren't foolproof, and just because you're wearing one does not mean you're in the clear.

"Masks of any kind would be helpful because then they are covering up your nose and mouth so they aren't going to touch those, but they still leave your eyes open so you can touch and transmit the virus that way," Michael Ison, an infectious disease specialist with Northwestern Medicine, told HuffPost.

When we look back at the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic that struck in 2003, researchers concluded that face masks played some role in slowing down the spread — especially in a hospital setting — but mostly because they prevented sick people from passing SARS around.

I just saw a picture of a good line in masks made out of hollowed out grapefruit halves among other things. I guess anything will do the job.
