I just saw a picture of a good line in masks made out of hollowed out grapefruit halves among other things. I guess anything will do the job.

I just read that there is a suspicion that China isn't being honest with number of deaths. Cremations are happening without being added to the records but with the numbers they have infected I should think it would be impossible and possibly inadvisable to try and do postmortems. There is a good chance I would have thought, that some deaths will be virus based. If it is  finishing off elderly and infirm it must be easy to pass them off as death for other reasons. Let's hope we are not importing a further 100 plus today.

No govts are ever honest about such things, they want to avoid panic.

To be fair to the Chinese they have tried hard to contain this and it could've started in any densely populated country,I remember the swine flu and seeing the mobile mortuary units on the motorways, nothing in the news though.

Yes good idea if you can,

Despite the fact they aren't saying where interwebby says York and to a hospital in Hull.

2 cases are here. Related, in treatment and contacts being searched for. Fingers crossed.

Wash hands regularly especially if using public transport. I think I'll just hibernate.

So the Flu is both more infectious and contagious and leads to the death; directly or indirectly of many thousands of people in the UK each year. This Coronovirus is however more virulent, which means that you are at a greater individual risk, should you catch it.

I still say that the flu or Norovirus poses a greater threat to most people than Coronovirus.

It all smacks of blatant scaremongering and just a little racism. The BBC were calling it the "Chinese Virus" this morning. Must admit I was unaware that a virus could have a nationality. Did they call Ebola the African Virus?

One thing that has become crystal clear in the past few days which is for me the key issue.

SARS was easy to detect because those unfortunate SIDS who caught it showed symptoms fairly swiftly

This bastard however sits inside you quietly infecting those around you while you show NO outward issues.

That's the problem right there. You could have been sat on a plane infecting the whole cabin and NO ONE would know.

As I posted elsewhere earlier, yesterday a woman and her adult daughter living in my town in the UK were taken under police escort to an unspecified medical facility, the elder suffering severe symptoms and in some distress, the younger also showing symptims. They had flown into the UK from China some weeks ago and been ill since shortly after their arrival

Yes, "typhoid Mary" has landed...

It's going to be at The Wirral apparently. Not too far from Manchester, is it?

The evacuation of UK nationals from Wuhan are to be placed in to isolation for 14 days, others returning from elsewhere in China are to be advised to self isolate for 14 days! :fcplm:

Apparently it's a bit crowded down south so they will be isolated in a hospital up north  :(  :barf:

So they are being flown in to RAF Brize  and then transferred to Arrowe Park hospital on the Wirral and isolated for 14 days.

You managed to quote his post without reading or understanding it correctly.

By the way, people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, so don't nitpick over spelling mistakes, because you are not without sin yourself in that regard. I could be pedantic, but it is rather tiresome.

My post there was general, but directed to the person quoted. I have a strong view against radical feminists and can see they are due to pass a law protecting them from so-called hatred. You people support this idea, but perhaps you are not quite aware that it has got as far as Channel 4 asking whether there should be a law on it, i.e. the whole fascist process is already in motion.

You quibble over trivialities and then complain when I apply the same standard to you people just to see what you make of yourselves. I say something I personally think in the absence of proof and you interpret it as an allegation. My view is I do not think you are particularly honest and even-handed yourself. I have a view on the modern church as well and think it is almost in agreement with its own destruction. You do not occupy any sort of moral high ground. The misogynist accusations you make  are where you purposefully conflate the hatred for a fascist ideology centred around women's rights with hatred of women in general. You do not have any evidence of it being the latter and therefore this is hypercritical.

Actually I've received a great deal of support from women in my speaking up against this feminist indoctrination. I think what you are saying is all men should bow to the superiority and righteousness of the modern-educated woman. The respect I get is biased towards the more intelligent woman. That suits me because they are the kind I find interesting to be with. If you are going to talk about them as just another species then that to be frank with you is rather degrading. I recognise women as human.

Clearly we do not agree, but it is no excuse for rudeness. Those who dictate one point of view are fascist. The rest are tolerant.

Were you to show a little more respect to the female of the species and the species in general on here maybe you'd receive some by return.
