Well any genuine left winger who is neither a Blairite nor a communist has no true option, so has a choice of one that is wholly inaccurate or of not voting at all as I have already been told I should have done.

This could potentially skew the poll. And even the most hard right of Tories are unlikely to vote far right because of the term's fascist or neo-nazi connotations.

Well take the three in charge. Your good self, Cromwell, and Nick.

Nick is a hard right Tory. You not quite so hard but definitely a Tory

Cromwell is a more complicated figure but if I had to summarise I'd see him as a typical red waller. Socially conservative and nationalistic but economically left leaning. Hard to put him in either camp entirely but you and Nick are definitely right wingers.

As for the wider membership,  myself, HDQQ, Good Old, Boycey and - on some issues - the recently reappeared Smurf are the only left leaners that I can think of who are or in any way ever have been regular posters.  All the rest seem to be adherents of the right, though Patman Post does appear to be very socially liberal with it.

Just my observations.

I did for the reasons stated in my previous poll, because the only alternative was the Blairite centre left. I am not actually far left at all but had to work with Toot's abuse of nomenklature. I am neither Blairite nor communist so in actual fact am nether centre left nor far left, merely left.

If you're not far Left you don't vote Steve. And a bit if history for people, Left and right are synonymous terms anyway and they are terms that reflect what side of the house you sit. Any poll that has any relevance should use terms like... Communist, Anarchist, Socialist, Social Democrat, Libertarian, Conservative, Nazi, Tory. Communists being Far Left and Tories being what is commonly known as Far Right.

Right, this poll has been on for less than an hour and the Tories are already rigging it. Who the f**k voted Far Left.

Similar gripes can be made in reverse, the term far right usually being associated with fascism or neo-Nazism.

I think your poll would have been better stripped of such pejorative associations, with the options being 

Right
Centre Right
Centre Left
Left.

If you wanted to include genuine Nazi or communist types, you could then have added far right and far left as fifth and sixth options.

However this forum appears to be in the main rabidly far right.
