Well, if you had patronised them they would not have disappeared would they?

Basic economics happened to someone else didn't it Pappy?
As sure my custom would keep no business afloat.

I do support local shops. The problem is any specialist shops disappeared long time ago.

Well, if you refuse to support your local shops you can hardly expect anyone else to do so.

To be honest Pappy, if you want to support your local economy I suggest that you stop waiting on others and start putting your short arms into your long pockets.

What SME's in the high street? (Seriously) In the nearest town to me they mostly disappeared a long time ago. It is mostly charity shops these days.

The SME's in the high street make huge profits do they?

Where did I say they will?
So tell me, how do you put wages up without putting prices up?
Stop making obscene profits.

You really have no idea just how crass and out of touch with reality that Tory Mantra is.

Just where do you think the 14 million people in precarity or Just About Managing, (JAMS) are going to get a better paid job?

the only way to improve you lot is to retrain and get a better paid job.

What you actually need are systems in place that guarantee work substantially pays. There will be few then who wont and any that there are will be poorer than those in work. You also make welfare payments for those of working age who are not in work conditional upon them making some effort.

What you don't do is assume that everyone claiming welfare is a lazy fecker.

What has this to do with the broader issue of socialism anyway? It is not an ideology of paying people to sit around doing nothing, but one predicated on a fair deal for the working classes.
This is the part you're not understanding. If wages go up costs go up and you're in the same position as you were before. And like it told you countless times, the only way to improve you lot is to retrain and get a better paid job. Why do you just expect something for nothing in terms of salary? Look at the high sheets, they're collapsing, and that's due in part to small businesses being forced to pay higher wages. What you're advocating will just leave your beloved corporations on the high street and no SME's
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

And like I kept asking, how do you sort the can't from the won't?

We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

It is not unworkable. Most of what we ask for we either used to have or other countries have already.

They don't follow it because they are affluent middle class liberal thatcherites pretending to be left wing but thinking that is all about woke issues.

That's cause socialism isn't a viable proposal, why would they follow an unworkable system?

The biggest problem is, they are not actually socialists at all.

There are indeed many "contemptible little shits".

But many of them are to be found in parliament, particularly on the front benches of both main partiies.

The most contemptible little shits do seem to be on the Tory benches, I have to say.

Kwarteng who sees value in allowing bankers unfettered greed again. Mogg who seems to have a moral problem with workers having paid leave. Truss who thinks we should all have to pay to see a doctor,

Shits, every one.
And they're all mostly after the big jobs...
On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...
