What you actually need are systems in place that guarantee work substantially pays. There will be few then who wont and any that there are will be poorer than those in work. You also make welfare payments for those of working age who are not in work conditional upon them making some effort.

What you don't do is assume that everyone claiming welfare is a lazy fecker.

What has this to do with the broader issue of socialism anyway? It is not an ideology of paying people to sit around doing nothing, but one predicated on a fair deal for the working classes.

This is the part you're not understanding. If wages go up costs go up and you're in the same position as you were before. And like it told you countless times, the only way to improve you lot is to retrain and get a better paid job. Why do you just expect something for nothing in terms of salary? Look at the high sheets, they're collapsing, and that's due in part to small businesses being forced to pay higher wages. What you're advocating will just leave your beloved corporations on the high street and no SME's

But many of them are to be found in parliament, particularly on the front benches of both main partiies.
