I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

But still you provide no substance.

There is plenty of substance, but you don't believe it.

I must say that when I used to volunteer for the red cross, we had our christmas meal in a wetherspoons one year.

It was not a good experience. The food took an age to arrive, was typically cold when it did, and often some of it was missing. The entire meal lasted several hours, the service was so slow. Some of us eventually got served our desserts whilst others were still waiting for their main course. The pub itself was soulless, the beer a bit rubbish.

That was before the boss came out as a total knob which he has done since.

I wouldn't be seen dead in a wetherspoons now out of principle.

Businessmen using their businesses to openly promote a political agenda is dodgy from a business point of view in any case, since it obviously risks annoying those customers who disagree. Mixing business with politics in this way is counterproductive to the interests of the business.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

When it comes to pubs and similar only Wetherspoons, has been consistently bad over time.
But still you provide no substance.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Very odd. Whatever Nick states, the boss of Wetherspoons is nasty, and treats staff like dirt.  I no longer go into Wetherspoons establishments, because of the bad experience over the years.
How strange that you have bad experiences all over the place, have you ever Ed that you're just a miserable old git and get it back where ever you go?
And what bad experience did you have?
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

I strongly suspect that you vilify Tim Martin because he is a strong Brexiteer. He seems to run a very successful company, that's not possible with mistreated staff.
I vilify him because he is nasty. I also think it is hilarious he complains about problems with getting staff. He wanted Brexit he will have to live with the aftermath. (Seems to be successful company that has closed 80 outlets.)

It isn't paywalled for me, either. Odd that.

Here is the true contents. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-52018360.amp

And here is the video showing exactly what he said, of course they try to make a perfectly reasonable video to be bad by suggesting he's drunk.
