I think we need to do both.

If the 5G software has been checked and is clean, then go ahead with it. I believe the PM has already given the green light to Huawei and 5G in the UK.

If the USA don't like it that is tough. If our own GCHQ are happy with it, that is good enough. USA need to provide very good reason for saying no.

We make our trade deals despite USA bluster - both with the USA and allowing Huawei phones access to 5G.

We don't need to choose one over the other.

The truth is it is more secure than 4G in a number of ways. You can't spoof a base station with 5G because the authentication number is encrypted, whereas with 4G it is done regularly. Also it has SSL which is what you use on web pages when dealing with your bank. We know it is secure because we have used it for years. 4G encryption is 128bit, where 5G is 256.

In reality Trump has done something really really dumb and been caught with his pants down and comes running to this country because our reputation is better. People all over the world trust us with billions of pound of investment, hence Trump desperately needed the UK to lie for him. The Aussies have lied for him, but they don't carry the weight we do. If GCHQ says it is good then it is good. Any bias would clearly be in the direction of Uncle Sam because we are known to have a close relationship. It's this act of honesty which has impressed the Chinese. You see we are known to them as being biased towards America. They respect honesty. They are handing us out countless jobs in high paying technical stuff.

It's a bit like the Iraq War and subsequent military actions. Our support went cold on them, and they curtailed their plans.

Probably best to go chop suey — a US invented Chinese dish...

You know what Trump is like though. It's an ego thing, and he is a cheat. Your Mc chop suey would cost a lot more, but you will be able to win a free trip to Disneyland. It goes without saying.

On climate change — we're talking, we're beginning to act, but we're still not doing enough...

At the world Economic Forum, international political and economic stuff is being hammered out by various countries. A trade deal is in the offing from Uncle Sam by the end of the year. Trump is over there at the moment haggling with our country, saying he is unhappy on two counts. Firstly I heard there is some kerfuffle about our country imposing tax on firms like Amazon, who have employed tax loopholes in order to pay virtually no tax to the UK government despite our hosting of their businesses and so on. The other thing angering Trump, and by extension the possibility of disrupting a deal, is Huawei.

The Huawei situation is very interesting in that Uncle Sam is basically lying his arse off spreading false rumour about the firm, and as matters have been investigated internationally these lies are pretty exposed now and Uncle Sam is looking like a dodgy bastard not wishing to play cricket. A big reason why this is so is because the UK security services like GCHQ et al, considered as world leaders when it comes to the complicated world of cryptography, did a line-by-line examination of all the 5G software and found nothing wrong with it! This issue is right at the centre of this huge trade war that Trump has had to pull back on to a point and reverse his arse out of and the firm in question is doing OK and some would even go as far as to say has actually profited out of the publicity.

Now this is all kind of funny in one sense, but the stakes in this game are huge. Meanwhile back in China the leadership has taken a liking to the UK and and even though May screwed up Brexit, she did a top job over there to make good relations with their leader. So we find ourselves in a funny situation. The official position is we are sticking to our guns and going to let the firm trade in Blighty, and although there is no official connection between the firm and the government over there, the government is smart and will see it as us getting China out of a very tricky problem, and indeed even risking a trade deal.

One year ago we got 40 billion dollars of trade deals with China. We are building a science park over there and a few other things as well. Bear in mind also that in monitory terms, if we did ban the firm our 5G telecommunications from alternative suppliers is twice the price. Telecommunication will continue to become a more vital part of our economy, like in the industrial age we all needed electricity, the future is information. If we can do it for half the price it would be a fantastic boost to the economy.

So do we go East or West? If we go East we are trading with the country with the highest GDP purchasing power parity, or with the West simply the country with the highest GDP.

Take the derivative with respect to time and  West it grows at 2.3% or East it grows at 6.9% or whatever it is now.

Then there is the other stuff to consider. Would you prefer to work and socialise with those from the East or the gun slingers from the wild west?

Mc Burgers or noodles?
