And who are the nasty yobs who threaten them? Left wingers!
No people who have suffered badly from Tory callousness and indifference since May 2010. Personally, I think they are being very restrained in the circumstance. However, if the Tories do not index benefits in line with rise in the cost of living, I do not expect that restraint to last.

Isn't he being realistic? If you can't make ends meet then something has to give. You either sell stuff cut back or get another job either to replace the one you have or as a top up.  Are we going to tell everyone to just carry on as before or start budgeting?
I know his constituency quite well and this hasn't gone down well.

The jobs aren't there and in any case a good point has been made there are those in poorly paid jobs who we rely on.

More like former Tories whose mortgages are going up.

He is a demon and a very nasty one as well. (No wonder Tory MPs are having to have police escorts to get in and out of the conference.)

Toots you are as far out of touch as that very nasty MP is. (That is as polite as I can be, what I would like to write would get me banned.)
Go for it I would be glad to oblige you.
It suits you to play the blame game at every turn and ignore the fact that a Conservative can be as effective in helping others as anyone else. You constantly insult anyone who has a different viewpoint to your outdated and vicious one.

Because he isn't an 'oh there there poppet we'll just open the banks and you can help yourself' kind of chap he is vilified as some sort of demon. It suits the Left wing agenda to paint him as such. It's disingenuous at best and downright dishonest at worst. Labour has nothing to offer than gloat because the perfect storm has hit the Conservatives instead of them. If Labour had been in power over the last few years I guarantee we would be far worse off and what makes it so risible is that they know it.

If he was realistic, he would shut up, it's not a nanny state, or so the Tories like to belch on about.
People know what they are up against they don't need a pompous , over privileged Tory stalwart, and that's a kindness , rubbing their problems in, people know what their chances are, and in most cases who's fault it is they have the problem. And quiet frankly that man is much closer to the source of the problem than they are.

Indeed Cromwell. I wonder, if everyone is expected to do well paid jobs, who is left doing the shit paid jobs? It wouldn't be so farcical but it seems the essential jobs, you know the ones people had to do and couldn't be furloughed, happen to be minimum wage! Perhaps minimum wage should increase in line with inflation plus 2%. Maybe that would solve the problem than everyone applying to become a banker Mr Berry.

He isn't the first and he will not be the last, in fact it's almost the classic Tory response to hardship, it's straight out of the , get on yer bike comments ,in response to massive unemployment back in the darkest days of a previous Tory cock up.
It's what was voted for on a few occasions now, they have always been the same and will never change, old lessons not learned, and the English voter can not resist their charm. So who knows if we are stuck with prat's like him .
