Borchester, it is not case of different ideas it is a case of they should never be let out without a minder. I am surprised that they have not been raided by a specialist police unit. (Seriously.)

Baron von Lotsov and Jaydee by any chance? There are also some very good reasoned and polite posters, look out for them.

I like Baron, even if he clearly gets most of his Physics from Science For Rather Backward Boys Monthy.

I am afraid that I don't read much of Jaydee's stuff. I have this vision of him stabbing away a keyboard covered in lined paper with a green pen and through a Donepezil  induced fog. Possibly I should. He is clearly as crazy and self obsessed as Pappy, but more upbeat, although, obviously,  that is not hard.

I would only get attacked and abused and I really do not like the rabid misogynist on that forum, or the one who should be in a secure mental unit.

Barry some of the trolls, nasty people have been on the internet for decades. I do look at the forum and at least two the people posting on it need psychiatric counselling.

I wouldn't recommend to you posting over there, as you would probably receive a lot of flak, as you do here, but it would be worse.

There's plenty of left and right wingers on there, so plenty to get your teeth into, if you can be bothered to enter the mush.

It happens a lot on this forum. I think several people have early onset memory loss.

Isn't it the case though that true debate is almost impossible not just in politics but generally? Increasing numbers no longer want to hear alternative views. Universities are designated 'safe spaces' and contorted to avoid upsetting the views of those who I thought were there to embrace conflicting ideas. I am not surprised by your findings but feel it is more universal than expected.

Well I come here precisely because I can debate with people of differing views. It is the nature of the beast that people hold dear their views and values and disagreements can become heated. But that is what we are here for. Any debating forum would die on its arse if everyone had exactly the same opinion about everything.

As one of my T-shirts states:- Some people are only alive because it is illegal to kill them.
When all else fails politely asking people to desist, doesn't work, the options run out.
The ignore button does NOT stop the problems.

I find the ignore button in partnership with the 'scroll past and ignore it' manual override works wonders.
