That's because we were still emerging from the last ice age and the earth had not yet fully heated back up. Climatic conditions there were much more temperate thousands of years ago. This was part of a natural cycle. Current CO2 emissions and the comparative rapidity of warming is not.
Look at the graph showing the last 800,000 years and then tell show me the difference in the graph today.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Seems to me that if it was a no brainer, no government interference would be required at all.

P.S.
If you wish to buy me an electric car, go for it. It will be a good investment for you.
Can't wait for you to baff another one out — keep them coming...

Eco is big business:

The global green technology and sustainability market is projected to grow from $13.76 billion in 2022 to $51.09 billion by 2029, at a compound annual growth rate of 20.6% during the forecast period.
The potential of this market is projected to spike rapidly in developing economies and emerging markets [........] Innovators across the globe are likely to capture market share for their own  green technologies
https://www.fortunebusinessinsights.com/green-technology-and-sustainability-market-102221

But the Fossil Fuels business is bigger:

The market size, measured by revenue, of the Global Oil & Gas Exploration & Production industry is $5.0tr in 2022.
The market size of the Global Oil & Gas Exploration & Production industry has grown 12.3% per year on average between 2017 and 2022.

It's true, Eco is big business — and growing.

So, to many, it makes sense to be part of a growing business area, especially if most of its core technologies depend on constant and permanent, and not depleting and widely polluting, resources.

Seems to me a no-brainer for the UK to support its growing Green and Sustainability industry to enable it to win a leading share of the global market...

There was a time when the Sahara desert was a green and pleasant land. This planet has always been subject to massive changes.

We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

Willie Soon and Sallie Bauliunas of the Harvard will disagree with you, the Doomsday book mentions over 40 separate Vineyards in the U.K., as far north as York. Stained glass windows depict grapes, London has Vine Street and the like, why? Because the U.K. used to be significantly warmer than it is now. Was that AGW a thousand years ago? No it was the natural order of things, and it is again, but man is so egotistical that what's happening must be down to us, how dare we not be at the centre of this.

It is difficult to separate long term climate trends from day to day and week to week whether.

But this summer we experienced the warmest temperatures locally that we have ever recorded.

And average annual temperatures are warmer than they used to be.

But what we experience day to day is weather changes rather than climate changes. Climate is the long term measurement of averages and overall trends. Weather is what happens on a day to day basis and is mostly what we experience in the raw.

As a socialist who recognises the threat inherent in climate change, the fact that they are both green and red makes them look like a seriously attractive option.

But one issue I have with them at the local level is that all too often down here they are more like Tories on bicycles.

You will get the same financial motivation for bias from anti fossil fuels as you will from pro.
Eco is big business.
If you are happy to dismiss one for this reason, you should be equally happy to dismiss the other.

What I note about the people who are disgusted by the money being made by fossil fuel companies is that they were vocally anti these companies before they ever heard of global warming.
And that these anti capitalists have simply got a new hook for their existing grievance.

Do we really have to go into third grade science lessons about where the heat on the Earth comes from? 🌞

The Earth is on a tilt of about 23 degrees, in our winter the north points away from the Sun, as we orbit to the other side of the the north points towards the Sun creating our summer. The Earth also has a wobble creating variants in our winter / summer. Our orbit around the Sun differs slightly causing variations to the temperature of the Earth. The Sun has large sunspot cycles that protect us from background radiation or minimums that allow a lot of BGR and therefore a lot of clouds.
Alignments of all these variants can cause either an ice age or a thermal trip, we're always heading towards one of them, and ATM we are just going over the edge and heading down again. Once we get to an ice age we will be there until we get another thermal trip and the whole thing starts to therm-cycle.

I'm not convinced that any of the scientific theories are proven or even provable.
I do lean towards the sun as the primary driver of global warming. But that's just another scientific theory too.

Either way, this simply isn't a major issue.
If you are so rich that all you have to worry about is the world ending, nice to be you.

But the money is with the climate change deniers retained by those who are making oodles of the stuff from fossil fuel extraction, processing and marketing.

New money may be made from research into cleaner energy and production, but it's lagging the money changing hands in the fossil fuel industry...

Just watched the video again and realised she's not crying, but acting. I suggest she goes to RADA and does some work.
