People who make a fuss over being screwed are usually the first to be screwed:)
People who see corruption as perfectly acceptable or at least excusable are usually themselves corrupt.
We are not all in the same boat. We are in the same storm. Some of us have yachts. Some of us have canoes. Some of us are drowning.

I have a mate who likes to brag that no one gets one over on him.

Years ago we had a particularly corrupt letting agent. Every month I would get my rents and pause to admire the way she had padded her bill. But she was also very good agent. She stole a bit, but there was never any trouble with the property or tenants and all I had to do was once a month open her letter, take out the cheque and slowly wend my way to the bank with it.

When she retired we got a new agent who was as straight as a die and bloody well useless.

I have a mate who likes to brag that no one gets one over on him. They probably don't, but he has probably burned a hole in his stomach due to fear that someone might, so what price honesty there?
