The Tory government appears to be heading in the direction of Britain being  a fascist state.  That Europe is, is in your mind not in reality.

Europe is the home of fascism mate.
And yes, all states tend towards fascism even ours.

Which is why in a liberal society we encourage checks and balances to that power.
A small state. Anti monopoly laws. A jury. A second parliamentary chamber. Referenda.

And in this case. The unions.
While of course the unions themselves also need to have checks and balances against their power to prevent them doing a Marxist take over.
And so on.

As far as possible the maximum freedom is found by devolving power down to the individual.
Who without the power of the collective behind him is unable to effect other people so much. This is the essence of liberalism.
Not the practical achievable outcome, but the direction of travel. The ideal that when pursued results in our optimum freedom.

What departments need closing down please. (There appears to be a shortage of staff across all parts of the NHS and also GP practices.)

Unfortunately increases in staff and pay in the NHS have gone hand in hand with less patients getting treated.
The only time services in the NHS increased in recent times was during the cuts.

The same occurred in the police force.

When faced with the sack, people raise their game. All the weak and counter productive people get sacked first.
That active threat is a requirement of an efficient organisation.

More carrots is not enough. Carrot and stick.

Who wants to be a fascist state like our European neighbours?

A lot of our peer country's have these same laws.
I'm not convinced myself.

Who wants to be a fascist state like our European neighbours?

Ultimately I tend towards the comments made earlier.
Let these people stay home. Things tend to work much better when they do.

You just agreed the country is overpopulated, that is the reason the NHS can't cope.
There was no NHS in 1840.

Any that dont involve the physical wellbeing of the patient  especially those that have cropped up in recent years specialising in cutting bits off blokes and growing them a pair of udders .Gender surgery  (£22million pa)

Pastoral services . If you need to speak to your God  ask to see your own vicar/priest/ imam /rabbi ect . If you haven't got one its probably too late anyway . (£25 million pa )

STD (£600M) , alcoholics and other addiction clinics (£4Billion)  should not be part of the NHS , you did it ,you pay for it .

There seems to be a shortage of health professionals across the world . We could at least do our bit by making sure those that do want to work within the NHS have jobs that benefit the health and wellbeing of the country not in departments  for people who are trying to feck it up

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

You've got that the wrong way round. The countries been over populated for a long time.
Britain has been overpopulated when it comes to sustainably in the long term being able to support the population since around 1840.

Most of the public sector can't provide a basic level of service with a full compliment of staff

Most of the public sector cant provide a basic level of service with a full compliment of staff so I don't see where any strikers are going to come from
