The UK has departed so that bit is correct. But the one constant through this process is the ability of Johnson to lie. I doubt he even knows what he'll do at the end of the yr, but I would bet that he will take whatever deal is going. The unfortunate aspect of this is the time limit will only allow a basic and probably restrictive offer from the EU.

Why do you constantly feed us the EU line? We have heard it all direct from the horses mouth. You are just echoing it so that you sound brain washed.

Anything 'well short' of what Brexit looked like when we voted for it or indeed what we are being told by the government is the Brexit they are going for this week will mean a No deal departure .

An good (IMHO) article on what any UK/EU trade deal by 2021 could look like, including the compromises and fudges made to achieve it.

It shows a deal is possible, but it would be well short of what was promised before Brexit.

I love this phrase from the conclusion:-

'Maybe. Who the hell knows? It's 2020, none of us have successfully predicted anything for half a decade. The world is chaos. '

Of course the writer doesn't know - no-one has ever been in this situation before. What is true today may well not be true tomorrow but one thing is for sure.  Since the referendum promise was put in the Conservative manifesto and Cameron ran to the EU vowing the get changes while vowing to remain the EU no matter what, it has pushed us around in the safe knowledge that we would cave and limp 'home' with our tails between our legs. For a long time they got away with it. The the last GE gave us a confident Government. It's a new day.
