I just hope everyone is ready to put their hands in their pockets because trust me its going to cost us .
And the current administration isn't presiding over the highest inflation for years, rising cost of living, and the worst homing, heating and eating outlook probably since WWII...?

How many councillors do the conservatives have to lose before they kick Sunak out ?  The grassroots will be seething that they are losing control of councils because of government incompetence
They're on their fifth PM already. How many more do you think they need to go through before voters find one they can latch onto?

Mind you, Penny Mordaunt cut an imposing and patriotic figure in front of millions of voters, so perhaps she might whip the Tories into shape...

Nick I could read and do basic arithmetic before I was aged three. (I blame my mother, who also purchased at great expense a set of encyclopaedias whilst I was at primary school.)
The need for voter ID was information that was very badly disseminated with far too many councils ignoring the legal requirement to have that information on polling cards.
The furore about is is being obscured by the wall the wall coronation bullshine.
And yet you have still produced zero proof of polling cards with missing information.
I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

They weren't denied, they obviously can't read, like you.

Don't make assumptions.  The only silver lining is despite denying some two million people a vote because of voter ID, the Tories still got their backsides kicked. (Personally I suspect tactical voting had an impact as well.)

Most countries require proof of identity when voting.

All that happened here until recently was that you were just advised to bring your polling card but you could still vote if you didn't have it.

I don't imagine electoral fraud by voters is a big thing but it still seems ridiculous to me that you don't need to prove who you are to exercise your vote.

At the very least it should have been compulsory all along to present your polling card when voting, as in 'no card, no vote'.

I want the PM that I voted in back, Boris, simple.
Which is how it should be .I think the tories have lost the plot in installing Sunak as PM ,he may lead the MP's but doesn't lead the party .

There are now more Labour councillors than Tory ones. Has this ever happened before?
You must be ecstatic

But to answer your question

Yes, quite a few times

https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-7529/

That document covers local elections as well as national ones and gives the numbers of councillors, in 1975 there were 11,000 labour to 8,000 tory but the year after the people saw sense and it was the other way round. I remember innthose days there were council elections every year for a percentage of thecseats which kept the councillors on their toes.

So he can put more sexual predators in positions of power so they can inflict their hobby on others?

Yes its the last thing they need but the members wont put up with the downward spiral of public support for the party especially as he is not the PM they wanted but one that was imposed on them

The pundits suggest the LAST thing the Tories need is another change of Leader

But they will probably have one when they piss their current majority up the wall

Actually although they have suffered a worst case scenario shutdown of support, the fact that tory votes have been deflected to a wide variety of recipients means that far from being a sea of red, there has in fact been an epidemic of NOC's with outraged tory voters giving their support to lib dems, and god help us fucking GREENS rather than Starmer and Co.

i'd be worried in his shoes.

IMHO (and several experts) not enough of a win to give them a majority in a General Election.  Good, another coalition would be no bad thing.

Wiki has a very informative collation of all the info, IMHO the voting swings were less than dramatic
