243 years ago actually, on 2 June 1780. Still, it is nice to remember that there was once a time when we could manage a decent riot.

It was all about Catholic emancipation. Not that many people were keen on it, but when the mob demanded that Parliament repeal the act the latter told the former to F@@@ off. 18th century MPs were just as self serving and venal as  today, but they had bottle.

Dont know about bottle Borky , they called in the army to put down the riots resulting in a reported  300 dead .

People getting all unecessary over trivial matters led by looney tunes is nothing new and Gordon was certainly one of them
