For what it is worth, the latest polls have the Brothers and Sisters at 47% and Saddo Sunak's lot at 24%.

Poor little bugger. He started out as a Brexiter and then packed his cabinet with remainers and has hung onto every EU regulation he could and now no one likes him.

As Oscar said, you would need a heart of stone not to piddle yourself laughing :)

We need her common sense and housekeeping instincts more than ever now...
We could do without her callousness, vindictiveness and mindedness though.

The struggling millions would be driven into utter destitution by someone like her.

So where are the calls to remove Sunak and Hunt as the economy crashes ?

People with mortgaes face the  nighmare senario of bigger payments and falling house prices , the cost of government borrowing is higher now than directly after the Truss mini budjet .

Interest rates are heading for double figures ,people will lose their homes ,recession looms .

The IMF and the WEF see Sunak as one of their own so wont like the did with Truss instigate regime change ,thats reserved for right wing politicians who cut taxes and deregulate .

But what about us ?  We are getting more of the same ,and some They will if the price is right as Sunak is proving So we have ended up where Sunak said we would be under Truss ,high inflation , high interest rates and low growth . Truss new the game was up with the social democrat economic policies of Brown and  Osborne that saw managering the growing  national  debt placed above reducing the size of the state .Sadly the decline continues under the Hunt /Sunak and we are paying for it .

All true.

We have just paid £40,000 off of the outstanding mortgage on the Rural Ruin, which seemed a better deal that leaving the cash in the bank where it would eaten away by inflation. Herself agreed that made sense and wonder why the government did not seem to realise that. I replied that I am not much, but on my worse day I am ten times smarter than Shitty Sunak and Co.

Seriously? After what she did to this country in 44 days? More of the same is the last thing this long suffering country needs or can afford.
We are getting more of the same ,and some

Liz thought she could ignore one of life's fundamentals:  money does not grow on trees

And its corollary:  people won't lend you money cheaply if they don't trust you
They will if the price is right as Sunak is proving

Truss had the ideas that everyone would like to be good and true. But she is simplistic and naïve had/has no idea what's needed top achieve them — that's possibly why she isn't even a good populist.

She's still peddling her ideas on cutting taxes - after her own unfunded tax-cutting bonanza caused a meltdown in the British economy — and ignoring how she and the UK don't dictate, and now hardly influence, how the world's economy works...

Excellent post. I hope we have not seen the last of Liz Truss. Maybe she'll have another opportunity.

All true.

Liz Truss had the right ideas, but she went too fast, the markets.panicked and so did she.

I think she understands the situation quite well . Without growth we are paying for the same public services with a smaller economy ,the status quo that is Sunaks safety net will in fact lead to higher taxes . Higher taxes lead to less investment and the managed decline that we have been in since 2008 continues .
If we want decent public services we need growth to pay for it not Sunaks suggestion of a recession will be good for you

Conservatives know Liz Truss was right ,she may have been a bit confusing and a bit all in for the markets who pushed the panic button but that doesnt alter the fact that she was right . Growth ,growth and growth was her message and someone down the line , someone with a clear economic plan and political vision of growth will pick  up her baton . That person won't be Sunak .Sunak is directed by the financial markets where as Truss wanted to directed them . Whos running the country , the elected or the financial institutions ?  Its quite clear its the latter ,they didn't like having their power reduced so got their own man in .
Sunak has little chance of getting elected for anything ,he couldn't even win an in party contest and won't get anywhere near winning a national one . The Conservatives need a new leader , a leader with a vision that brings hope for the future , steady growth, an end to austerity ,low taxes and investment .
Maybe Liz Truss was the wrong person at the wrong time  , but history will prove she was right .

Everybody wants lower taxes, higher incomes and plenty of work or leisure available together with good health and welfare. But it all needs a healthy exchequer and beneficial trade, and Truss believed giveaways were the way to get them — she was a blatant populist with little or no economic knowledge or understanding.

Possibly building on her knowledge of cheese imports, Truss trashed the prospects for the UK economy and crashed foreign confidence in just 44 days, and the UK is still climbing out of the mess she created.

Sunak told Truss her plans were shi.. unworkable before she was elected by the ageing blue rinse and Col Blimp Boris-supporting Party members.

Now Sunak has to single-handedly get the party electable by employing common sense on the outstanding issues while keeping the Boris backers, ERG, and other EU-sceptics reduced to mild grumbling rather than outright rebellion...

Maybe in the conspiracy forum but then I would have to add that to save the banks that have put peoples  pension funds on the wrong horse they are going to have to kill off the pensioners by jabbing them every 6 months just in case they catch a cold .

But I wont do that as it would deflect from the point that Trusseconomics  is going to become popular , watch this space .

Well some of us knew at the time that Sunak was supposed to get the job and nothing would stop him being imposed on us . Everything that they said would go wrong under Truss has anyway without the prospect of growth , Hunt even suggesting a recession would sort us out . ''The economics of the madhouse''
Truss , tough on immigration , no more bs from the eu ,plans for  economic growth v Sunak  record immigration , watered down brexit bill , inflation .

Bring back Liz !  they said she was out of her depth , Sunak is actually drowning
