Planting fake bombs on military bases is a serious issue. As to the spying charges personally I suspect official paranoia, until some evidence is provided.

This is one of those news items, that beggars belief, because of the sheer number of official cock-ups that led up to it. (For a start clinging to the bottom of a lorry seem to be an assumption.)  Why wasn't he in Belmarsh, and why was he given a "trusty" job in the kitchen.  His military  training in escape and evasion appears to have worked.

  • A manhunt continues for terror suspect Daniel Abed Khalife who escaped from Wandsworth prison in London on Wednesday morning
  • Khalife, 21, was awaiting trial after being accused of leaving fake bombs at a military base while serving in the Army
  • It is believed he escaped from a prison kitchen by strapping himself to the underside of a food delivery van
  • Khalife is understood to have links to Kingston in south-west London, and north-west England
  • All police forces and UK border points have been asked to look for Khalife
