Suspension of SNP rebel is 'proportionate', says minister

Suspending rebel SNP MSP Fergus Ewing from the party's parliamentary group at Holyrood for a week is proportionate, a senior member of the Scottish government has said.

I note that both of Yousaf's opponents - Kate Forbes and Ash Regan - stood by Ewing. It will be interesting to see if Ewing does an Angus Brendan MacNeil and refuse to rejoin the Group. MacNeil is going to stand as an Independent next year, against the SNP (unless of course the party sees sense and back off).
