Business is business and these fantasises that Gerryy's mum knocks up for her boy and Pappy are just that. The Germans are as keen to buy our widgets and sell us their beer as we are to do the same to them. All this nonsense about us being engaged in some sort of trade war to the death is the sort of thing I put into the pea trenches.


If my opinion were asked (and it is probably bollocks) I would say that the Germans need us more than we need them because their economy is heavily reliant on manufacturing, and metal bashing is harder to turn around than services. But I hope both sides do well. As I have said ad nauseam, a rising tide floats all boats.

The only thing is, who the hell takes notice of the BBC?
